"Amaterasu, get up or you'll be late!"
Kakashi's voice rang in her ears as she laid in bed under a plethora of blankets and pillow, she groans and pushes everything off of herself as she sits up and yawns. She's been with Kakashi for a while now, but still hasn't quite adjusted herself to waking up and getting settled in at his place. She gets up from bed, cleaning herself up a bit before leaving the bedroom. The short walk down the hall was silent, she then enters the kitchen to see Kakashi with an apron on and a pan in hand. It brought a smile to her face to see him this way, he wasn't one for having younger children around, so he was still adjusting to her living with him. It was also amusing to see him with an apron on, as it wasn't really his type of thing to wear.
"Come eat, you got to hurry or you'll be running behind before you know it," he says as he sets the pan on the stove,
"I know you're still getting used to being here with me, but you can't be falling behind now."
Amaterasu sighs quietly, and replies,
"I won't fall behind, I promise. Besides, I've been training a lot lately too, you know that."

Amaterasu's green eyes scan over the classroom from her seat near the back as the other students file into the room. Spotting Shikamaru Nara, the laziest one in the class, she couldn't help but wonder about him. With how lazy and uninterested he always seemed, he was probably the smartest one as well. But despite being distracted by him, she was waiting for Naruto to arrive, he was a good friend of hers and she always felt comfortable around him, no matter what. She can't help but smile as the blond then enters the classroom, he spots her and grins as me makes his way to his seat at her side.
"Hey Amaterasu!" he greets her happily,
"How come you weren't around yesterday?'
She shrugs, looking to the front of the room as their teacher, Iruka Umino, enters and sets his things on the small desk. He beings a lesson almost right away, but she replies anyway,
"I was out training, working on a new justu. I'll show you later, I think you'll really like it. I don't have a name for it yet, but it's a combination of my lightning and wind style."
"Heh, I can't wait to see it," he was practically beaming from ear to ear, it only made her feel happy as well. It was always this way with the blonde, his cheerful attitude was simply contagious. She looks back to the dark haired Nara, her thoughts going back to him. They used to be good friends, but ever since she moved in with Kakashi, they had drifted more and more apart. It made her sad to think this, even if it wasn't from either of them. She's even thought about talking to him again, to see if they could ever go back to how they used to be. But she could never bring herself to do so, she always seemed to back out right at the last minute.

Heavy breaths pass Amaterasu's lips as she hunches over, placing her hands on her knees to support herself. She's been training nonstop for the last three hours, despite being exhausted, she wasn't going to stop just yet. Her jutsu still needed work, and she wouldn't stop until she's made some sort of progress in improving it. A rustling sound could be heard from her left, prompting her to look there and call out,
"Who's there?"
Whoever it was wasn't being very quiet, or if they were trying they were failing miserably. The rustling grows louder as the person steps out from behind a large bush, revealing them self to be none other than Shikamaru. His hands were stuffed in his pockets and there was an almost natural bored look on his face, he says,
"It's just me, I was watching because I was curious. When did you start learning that jutsu?"
She huffs and turns away from him, feeling her heart start to beat faster than it already was. One thought passed her mind in that moment, and it was,
'Why am I getting this way? It's just Shikamaru!'
Despite that thought, she replies,
"None of your business, I don't have to tell you."
She drops down on the grass with her back to him still, a silence hangs between them before he sits at her side. He lies on his back with an easy sigh, then says,
"Well, don't mind me then. I'll just be here."
Amaterasu sighs, she lies down next to him after a moment. She then says quietly,
"I didn't mean to snap at you like that, I've just been going through some stuff. And because of that, I have to say I'm sorry. Mostly for not talking to you in a long time, I just couldn't bring myself to."
Shikamaru closes his eyes, lacing his arms behind his head in the grass. He replies,
"Don't worry about it, things can be a real drag sometimes. But that doesn't mean you have to let it affect you so much, just take it easy for a while."
Her green eyes drift upwards to the blue sky, a breeze blew by them, her pale reddish hair blowing about her face. A smile tugs at her lips, even if they hadn't said much to each other, she knew they'd be able to go back to being close friends. And he was right after all.
Things really could be a drag.
