What If?

Keira sighs as she carries a bag filled with groceries, heading back home. Kakashi had to leave for a mission two days ago, it was an escort mission and he said he would be back in about a week or so. Which meant she would be on her own for awhile. In truth, she was starting to miss him always pestering her. Iruka comes over sometimes to check on her, he couldn't come often though, he had a class to teach.

She was almost home, and it was getting dark out fast, the sky was turning from pink and orange to darker colours. Keira places her free hand over her rather large stomach, she could feel her baby kicking softly and it brought a smile to her face. It brought her joy to think about how she and Kakashi would be parents themselves soon, they couldn't think of anything better that's happened to them. Their baby was due in about a week and a half or so, according to Tsunade. Keira was already thirty-seven weeks pregnant. But that worried her, what if Kakashi wasn't back by then? He would have to miss his own child's birth, there would be no way he'd forgive himself for that, even if it isn't his fault.

Keira pushes that thought to the back of her mind, she didn't want to think about that. As their apartment comes into view, Keira's surprised as two men push her into an alley nearby. She keeps her hand over her stomach, and they tower over her. They back her against a wall and the one to her left has a grin on his face as he asks,

"What do ya got in the bag?"

Keira cowers away from them,

"G-groceries, I just want to go home. Please."

The one to her right pulls something out of his pocket, and Keira feels a weight on her chest as she sees it's a pocketknife. He says,

"We can do this the easy way or the hard way, just give us all the money you've got on you."

Keira's grey eyes stay on the knife as she replies,

"I don't have any money left."

The man on his left shakes his head,

"It's too bad you said that, now we've got to search you."

He grabs Keira and forces her arms painfully behind her back, making her drop her bag, and the other man approached her with the knife pointed at her. She could feel her heart beating against her chest as the one with the knife looks through her bag, then comes over to her and stuffs his hand into her jacket pocket.

The one behind her leans closer to her, and she felt his breath on the back of her neck,

"You know, you're pretty hot for a pregnant chick."

Keira felt like she wanted to throw up, she was terrified,

"Leave me alone, please."

She felt him press his face against her hair and she felt a shiver go up her spine. Keira absolutely hated it when anyone but Kakashi or Iruka touched her, she only allowed Iruka to touch her because he was her closest friend.

Keira tried to pull herself free from his grasp, but he only twists her arms more, causing her to cry out in pain. The man in front of her takes his hand back and says,

"She really doesn't have anything on her."

The one holding her pulls away from her and shoved her against the wall. Keira wraps her arms around her stomach, she felt her baby kicking again, she falls to her knees and they stand in front of her. The one with the knife crouches down to her level and holds the knife against her cheek, drawing blood,

"You really should of had some money."

Keira could feel tears forming in her eyes as she stammers
