It All Happened Like This...

Chapter One: We Celebrate Like This...

I'm officially eighteen years old. What is the best thing about my birthday so far? Well for starters is Saturday, no school. Also because I'm celebrating it with my family and friends. What more could I ask for?

I woke up early for my morning walk with Flora and Kiwi, our girl Husky and boy Pug, and when I returned I found a note saying to take a shower and get ready to come downstairs after. So I did, and when I went downstairs my three best friends and my parents surprised me with a birthday cake and gifts.

After they sang happy birthday and made me open my gifts, my parents left to buy some groceries, but were coming back to take me out for dinner. My friends and I were in the back porch drinking hot coco and talking about how our week went. For humans it was really cold, but for us werewolves, we had enough body heat that we really only needed to wear a jacket. Flora loves this type of weather while Kiwi decides to sleep warm next to the fireplace.

"So you guys are going to Dereck's birthday party?" I asked.

"Yep. I already promised him I'll be there." Ariel said. Ariel was your typical white boy. Blond hair, blue eyes, sculptured body. He is part of the fire squad and also part of our wolf warriors.

"The whole pack is going to be there. It sucks that you guys are not gonna be there." Eve said resting her head against Ariel's chest. Eve and Ariel were mates. Ariel new as soon as he turned eighteen that Eve was his mate. It wasn't hard for them since they were already best friends. Eve is considered as the African beauty with her smooth dark brown skin and wavy long black hair. She had a curvy body that drove all the boys crazy. I'm happy her mate is Ariel and not another guy who goes for her good looks.

"I know, but my parents had this dinner planned for weeks and I don't want to ruin their plans. They said the restaurant is only by reservation because it's cheap and had good entertainment." I said, "Plus it's also out of town. Every restaurant here is closing after two because the whole town is going to Dereck's birthday party."

"Are you going to the party Tatum?" Eve ask our last friend. Tatum is human. Believe or not she is the leader of our group. This tiny blond haired girl with a trucker's vocabulary was the boss. Nobody messes with her.

"Me? Oh I'm going to the party. Gonna get me a lucky pup as my pet for the week. I have been thinking of going to the new Chinese buffet they opened around school. So I need money and that lucky pup is going to buy me some Chinese buffet." She said.

"You're mean Tatum." Ariel said.

"If you don't like me then change me for another human. Just a little warning though. You're not going to find a human as cool as me anywhere else." She said making us all laugh.

"Well tell Dereck happy birthday from my family and I." I said.

"I'll say happy birthday from your family, but not from you. The bastard always bothers you." Tatum said.

"Well I'm not going to let his annoying behavior to ruin my birthday. You guys have fun and don't forget to eat all you can. Especially you Tatum." I said.

"Yes ma'am!" They all shouted giving me the soldier salute.
