Dereck's POV

It was two in the morning, according to my clock in the nigh table, where my cellphone was ringing. I didn't look to see who was calling me before I picked it up.

"What?" I growled.

All I could hear from the other side was heavy breathing and coughing. I looked to see who was calling me. Maybe one of the guys is making a phone prank, but I saw Melody's picture.

"Mel! Baby, are you alright?" I asked already getting up and starting to put a shirt on. She would never call me this early unless something really bad is happening.

I keep hearing only coughing and wheezing. I thought she wasn't going to answer until she cried, "I can't breathe!"

"Why? What's wrong? Is someone with you?" I asked. I was already in my car turning it on.

"No. Asthma attack. Help me." She cried.

I felt like crying with her. You could hear the agony in her voice. I know how hard it is to have an asthma attack. Both my twin brothers have had them.

"I'm on my way already. I need you to try and calm down a little and breathe slowly. I know is hard, but try your best. I'm only a five minutes away." I heard her take a deep breath, but then started coughing. By now I could see her house. Why the hell is her house so far away from the road? As soon as I got to her house I got out of my car and literally broke the door. I went upstairs and followed the sound of coughing.

She was sitting on the floor next to her bed with her head between her legs. I kneel in front of her and grabbed her face. She had tears going down her beautiful face.

"Hey Gorgeous. Did you know you have asthma?" I asked.

She nodded, "I had it...when young...but it's been...years since I had...asthma...attack."

"Ok. We are going to get through this together. Do you have a pump or something?" I asked her. She shook her head.

Crap! "Ok then. Let's start with breathing slowly. Inhale...Exhale...Inhale...Exhale..." She did as I said and eventually calmed down a little. She was still breathing fast, but at least she wasn't coughing.

"Let's get you comfortable. I have to close the front door and turn my car off." She smiled at that. I put her in bed and made sure she was comfortable.

Once downstairs I noticed the broken door and tried to put it back in place but the thing didn't want to stay up. I went to my car and turned it off and locked it. I went back to the door and this time it managed to stay up and look like nothing happened to it.

I went back upstairs to Melody, who was still breathing fast. At least she was not in panic. She extended her hand to me and I grabbed it. She pulled me to her. I took my shoes and shirt off and lay down next to her pulling her closer.

"I haven't had an asthma attack since I was eight years old." She said, "I hate them. I don't know what could have triggered it."

"It doesn't matter. I'm here now so to sleep. I'll keep an eye on you." I said giving her a kiss on top of her head.

"Thank you."

"You're welcomed gorgeous. Umm... I owe your parents a new front door."

She laughed a shaky breath, "Tell them when they come bad."

"Where are they by the way?"

"It's their anniversary. So I told them to take the weekend off alone to another city. I didn't want to bother them so I called you...Thank you again."

"It's nothing. I would come in a flash just for you."

She yawned, "I don't know what I would do without you? I love you Dereck." she said falling asleep.

I smiled. This is the girl I want to spend my whole life with, "I love you gorgeous."
