Chapter 4- Worst Nightmare

Dragon POV

After sending Joanna home, I went to the League Hall.

I put on my Illusion Ring as I headed towards the Patriots' meeting room.

There was a round table with eight chairs. Each chair were labeled with the superhero's name. Each time a superhero is welcomed to the ranks of the Patriots, the table widens itself and adds a new chair with the name of the superhero.

I sat on the chair with "Dragon" on it and waited for the others.

The first to arrive was Sage.

Xander Hughes AKA Sage has the power to neutralize other superpowers. We don't know for sure if he can neutralize Phoenix's since we haven't exactly encountered her for a couple of months already. He is as tall as I am. He is thirty-two years old, the oldest Patriot. He was the leader of the Patriots for a short time after Saber's death. When I turned fifteen, he gave me his position.

"I need superheroes to protect Joanna."

"Why? Most villains fear her because she can copy their superpowers." Sage reassured.

"What about Phoenix? Does she fear Joanna?"

"I can't tell for sure whether or not Phoenix fears Joanna but Joanna can protect herself."

I sighed. "She would need a bunch of superheroes by her side to copy their superpowers amd what more, when she copies a power, no one knows how long the copied power will last."

"Then I'll help her." Zoom said as he entered the meeting room. "Because she's my friend."

I stood up and gave Zoom a manly hug. "Thanks man."

Angel, Buddy, Ghost, Sun and Moon arrived. We all got seated on our respective seats. Angel sat to my left since she's my third-in-command and Zoom to my right since he's my second-in-command.

I turned to Angel. "What happened?"

"Wi-Fire?" I nodded. "A woman rang the League's bell to call for help. Wi-Fire caused some stores to catch on fire. He also caused quite a ruckus. Colonel, Spitfire and I arrived and tried to put out the fire. The firemen came and so we left to find Wi-Fire. And well, you know where we found him."

"Who is his wife?" Zoom asked.

"No clue. The old dude seems to have lost his mind. He won't stop cackling and murmuring 'this place is safe' repeatedly." Buddy answered.

Elliot Riffle AKA Buddy has the power to create portals. He is as tall as Sora or Zoom. He is a year older than me.

"He sounds so creepy." Moon shuddered at the thought.

Gianna Solares AKA Moon has the power to manipulate light. She becomes much more powerful if she works together with her brother, Sun. She is as tall as Joanna. She is two years younger than me.

Ryder Solares AKA Sun has the power to manipulate light. His twin sister is Gianna or otherwise known as Moon. He is an inch taller than Gianna.

"He also mentioned Joanna's parents once." Ghost added.

Nathaniel Stall AKA Ghost has the power to astral project. He is as tall as Sora. He is a year younger than me.

"What about?" Angel asked.

Clara Aubert AKA Angel has wings(no kidding, she's Angel), superhuman strength and healing powers. She can also tell if you're telling the truth or not. She is as tall as I am and also the same age as I am.

"How they gave birth to a devil spawn." Sun said.

"Yeah, she's a devil." Angel muttered.

I glared at Angel. "You don't know her like I do, Angel. You just hate her because your sister died trying to protect Joanna."

"She's an ungrateful spoiled brat! She refuses to use her superpower which was why my sister died! She can be a great help to us if she's here with us!" Angel shouted.

I slammed my hands on the table. "We don't force those who have superpowers to become superheroes! We should at least respect the fact that Joanna lost her parents because they were superheroes. We should also respect Joanna's decision!"

Before Angel could say anything, a hologram of a hodded man appeared in the middle of the table.

Zoom asked, "Who are you?"

The hooded man grinned under his hood. "I am King.
