Everyone's running from something but we don't know when it's coming...

~Chapter 27~ Surprise

Danny's pov:

When I woke up Rose was already gone as she had to be early at work today. I turned over to see that it was already 10.36AM. I slowly sat up and got out of bed and walked downstairs. My ribs hurts but not as much as I thought they would do. When I walked into the living room I was greeted by a happy Skyler so I kneeled down next to her and stroked her. Then I got up and made myself a cup of tea and decided to think of a valentine present for Rose, as it was valentines day in one week. Normally I'm not looking forward to valentines day because of my dad, but I wanted to do something for her. After about half an hour I had an idea. I'm gonna take her to Venice, she always wanted to go there and it's really romantic there like Paris. Unfortunately the weather is not very warm there, yet. But we can always go a second time when it's warmer. I booked our flights and a hotel and everything for us to make it perfect for her. Then I decided to call Laura to ask if she would look after Skyler when we're in Venice. Rose had given me Laura her number for emergency's and well, in my opinion this is some kind of emergency. After a few rings she finally picked her phone up.

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's Danny." I said when she picked up the phone.

"Oh hey Dan! What's up?" She asked.

"Yeah I'm fine. But I wanted to ask you something actually."

"Spill the beans." She said sounding curious.

"Well I booked a trip for Rose and myself for valentines day and I was wondering if maybe you could look after Skyler?" I asked her.

"Aaah that's so sweet!! But yeah, of course I'll look after her." She replied.

"Thanks." I said. Then I heard a voice in the background asking "Look after who?" And I recognized that voice immediately.

"Laura?"

"Yes?"

"Is that Glen with you?" I asked her smiling to myself. It stayed silent for a while until she said,

"Uhh yes... Why?"

"Nah nothing just wondering. Well I'll leave you two lovebirds to it. Bye."

"Bye." She replied before hanging up. Then I went to the mall to get a wine, Processo, as I found on the  internet that that is a venice wine. When I got back I had a quick walk with Skyler as she came towards me with her lead. When I came back I decided to make dinner for us as Rose could be back any second. I was so concentrated on making our food that I didn't even notice that she came walking up behind me and wrapped her arms around me from behind.

"Hi babe." She whispered in my ear.

"Hi gorgeous." I said turning around and giving her a kiss.

"How was you day?" I asked returning to the food.

"Yeah it was Ok. Yours?"

"Good. Just prepared a surprise for you." I said making her curious.

"Oh, and what will that surprise be?" She asked sitting on the kitchen counter.

"I said that it was a surprise, which means that I can't tell you. But if you really want to know..."

"Yeah. I really want to know." She said looking me in the eye.

"Well it's for valentines day."  

She just smiled at me when I said that. I put the lasagne in the oven and started to prepare the table.

"And you need a suitcase." I said with my back to her.

"What?" She asked confused.

"You'll need a suitcase for the surprise." I said turning to her.

"You're making me really curious now." She said placing her hand on my chest.

"I know." I replied to her.

"So, are you gonna tell me?" She whispered in my ear and giving me a light kiss on my cheek.

"Hmmm maybe. You don't want it to be a surprise?"

"Nope. I don't like surprises." She said smiling at me.

"Well, I'm gonna take you to Venice." I said smiling at her.

"No way!" She said her eyes growing wider.

"Yes way! And I have everything sorted, Laura is looking after Skyler, Anne found someone to replace you on work. And everything there is sorted." I said taking her in my arms.

"That's the best thing someone has ever done for me." She said into my chest.

"You deserve the best baby." I said kissing the top of her head.

We ate our dinner and talked about our day and how she looked forward to go to Venice. Our flight is the 14th at 2AM so she said that she wanted to go to visit my dad before we went to Venice. First I didn't understand why she wanted to go there but then she told me that she wanted to 'meet' my dad and that it would be good for me to go there as well so I agreed to her. When we finished our dinner I went to put it in the dishwasher and Rose went for a shower. When I finished I went into our bedroom to change into my sweatpants. When I walked into the bedroom I saw Rose standing there with a towel wrapped around her body standing in front of the wardrobe picking a pair of pajamas. I stayed silent and leant against the doorframe. She didn't hear me so she just dropped the towel but before she could take her pajamas on I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her neck.

"You scared me." She said laughing.

"I"m sorry baby." I said in between kisses. She turned around in my arms and I kissed her full on her lips this time. I walked forward to that she walked back until I pushed her gently with her back against the wall, not breaking the kiss. Her hand went to the hem of my shirt and she slipped her hands under my shirt and ran them over my bare back. I picked her up and threw her on the bed and started kissing her harder our tongues fighting for dominance. After our make out session she put her pajamas on and I put my sweatpants on. I didn't bother putting another shirt on so I walked around shirtless. My ribs were still blue but Rose wasn't feeling guilty about that anymore, other way I would't walk around shirtless right now. I made us a cup of tea and cuddled up to my beautiful girlfriend on the couch.
