Everyone's running from something but we don't know when it's coming...

~Chapter 47~ Home

Rose's pov:

I woke up still in Danny's arms, he was still asleep so I tried not to move. Scared to wake him up cause he looked so exhausted yesterday when he lay next to me. I saw his phone on my bedside table so I reached over to see what time it was. 8.36 AM. I smiled at myself when I saw his background on his phone, it was a picture of us on the gondola in Venice. I put his phone down again and snuggled up to him again.

A few minutes later a nurse walked in to check on me. I put my finger on my lips and pointing to Danny letting her know to be silent. She nodded smiling and checked all the machines and read the clipboard at the end of my bed. She nodded again at me letting me know that everything was okay and walked away again. By accident to closed the door with a 'bang' I quickly looked at Danny hoping that he'd sleep through it but he began to stir. I slowly stroked through his messy hair hoping that he'd fall asleep again. It didn't work cause after a few seconds he slowly opened his eyes and looked down at me still sleepy.

"Hello sleepy." I said softly kissing his cheek.

"Hmm." He replied giving me a lazy kiss on the top of my head. I put my head on his chest and felt it slowly rise and fall down with his breathing. 

"How're you feeling?" He asked after a few minutes when he'd woken up properly. 

"Good actually. I think you're the best cure." I said smiling at him.

"Great." He replied running his finger through my hair. 

"How are you feeling?" I asked still looking at him.

"Good. Just tired." He replied giving me a small smile.

"You can go to sleep again, I understand." I said putting my head down again.

"No, I want to be with you." I replied twisting my curs around his finger.

We just laid there in comfortable silence, he playing with my hair and I with my head on his chest and my hand drawing patterns on his stomach. After a few minutes the doctor came walking in and smiled at me when he saw me lying on Dan's chest.

"Hello mrs O'Connor, slept well I see?" He said nodding at Danny who had his eyes closed again but opened them when he felt me sitting up a little bit.

"Amazing." I said smiling.

"That's good. But I came here to say that you got stable through the night and everything seems fine so you're allowed to go home." He said.

"That's amazing!" Danny said smiling.

"Thanks." I thanked the doctor when he walked out of the room.

"It's my pleasure." He said before closing the door.

A few hours later Danny and I walked out of the hospital towards Laura who was picking us up, cause we don't have a car anymore...

"Hey girl!" She said happily when he saw me and embraced me in a hug. We stepped in her car and drove to our home. When we arrived back home I sat down on the couch while Dan immediately ran to the kitchen to make us both a cup of tea. When I sat down Skyler came running toward me and jumped on the couch next to me. I stroked her while Dan came sitting on the other side of me.

"Who's been looking after Skyler?" I asked suddenly when I realized that it wasn't Dan cause Laura told that he hadn't left the hospital for one minute.

"Mark took her to their house. The kids loved her." He said smiling at her when she decided that she had enough of me and laid down on Danny's lap. 

"I'm going for a shower." He said putting Skyler on the ground.

"Okay." I replied turning the tv on. After a few minutes he appeared again in his sweatpants, shirtless and his hair still wet. He said something but I didn't hear a word of it cause I was distracted by his beautiful body.

"Sorry what?" I asked finally tearing my eyes from his body and looking him in the eyes.

"Like what you see?" He said smirking. 

"Yeah." I said smiling.

"I asked if you wanted me to order Chinese." He said laughing.

"Yeah sounds great." I replied.

He grabbed his phone to order and came so sit next to me again when he was finished. When our food arrived he opened the door and came back with the food. We ate it on the couch watching a random film that was on. When we were finished I went upstairs to change into a t-shirt and some sweatpants. But when I wanted to take my shirt of I realized that that really hurts on my ribs so I shouted Danny from upstairs.

"Dan!" I shouted walkin to the top of the stairs.

"Yeah?!" He replied from the living room.

"Can you help me?!" I shouted back.

"Coming!" He replied. And a few seconds later he came walking up the stairs.

"What's up babe?" He asked worried.

"Nothing. But it hurts to take my shirt of, can you help me?" I asked looking down.

"Of course baby." He said. We walked to the bedroom where he slowly and carefully took my shirt of, leaving me in my bra. I decided to take my bra of as well that I don't have to go through the pain tonight again. I reached with my hands to my back but felt that that hurt as well so gave up. Dan saw what I was trying to do, so he whispered in my ear,

"Let me do that as well." And with one quick move my bra fell down my arms, leaving me half naked.

"You're so gorgeous." He whispered giving me a hungry kiss in my neck. He came up to my lips and kissed me rough but passionately at the same time.

"I missed this." He mumbled in the kiss. I felt myself smiling but stopped him before he could go any further.

"Dan we can't." I said when I pulled away.

"I know, I'm sorry I just couldn't help myself." He said giving me light kiss on my chest. I picked one of Dan's shirts out of the wardrobe and gave it to him.

"Can you help again?" I said smiling.

"Hmmm, I don't know. I wouldn't mind if you'd walk around like this." He said winking at me. I just raised my eyebrow at him in reply. He laughed and helped me take his shirt on. When I was changed we went back downstairs and I cuddled up to the most handsome man ever.
