Strand of Hair (Sophie)

Sophie really disliked her blonde hair when she was a small child (because she didn't want to get noticed, she made herself paranoid and tried to go at great lengths to try not to let anyone know about her telepathy powers) and at one point tried to cut it, but her 'mother' *cough cough* stopped her just in time. But Sophie had cut one strand in front of her face. It was very short and not very noticeable, thankfully. When Sophie became a young teenager, obviously her hair had grown and the strand fell in between her brows. It was too short for her to tuck it back behind her ear, so she let it be. She found it annoying though.
   When Edaline and Grady took Sophie in, they didn't think much of it until the day Sophie found the canceled adoption papers letter (I cry every single time). Sophie had cried and sobbed and when Grady had tried to talk to her and she ignored him, he had pushed the strand of hair out of her face. Sophie immediately stopped crying and instead had a face of pure sadness. It was exactly what her old parents did when she felt horrible. Soon, everyone found out that that brushing the strand would calm Sophie down quickly. It became a symbol of peace, that strand of hair. It became apart of her future and her past and everytime she looked in the mirror she saw her peace.
