Hello my fellow elves. I felt a bit bad about not doing any one shots for the lovable Dex Diznee (I'm still not over that last name)!!! I mean, we all need that little nerdy/geeky person in our lives, right? As much as I deny it, I'm probably the Dex of my friend group, you know the weirdo that obsesses over things. Not that's a bad thing, but you get it. We all wish we were Sophie cri.
"Dex!" Sophie's voice echoed through Slurps and Burps. They were nearly late for the meeting they had originally planned with Biana, Fitz, and Keefe. If there was one thing Sophie hated, it was being late.
A/N: I don't actually know if this is true but go along with it.
"Dex!" Sophie said again. He couldn't hear her over the whirring and popping noises his machines were making from his closet.
"Oh my gosh," Sophie groaned. "Dex!"
She ignored the sign on the janitors closet that said 'Dex Only' and opened the door. He was still hunched over and tweaking his gadget, clearly entranced in the contraption in front of him.
"Dex!" Sophie said once again. He didn't notice.
She stormed in the room and shook his shoulder sternly. "We need to get going," Sophie said loudly. She pursed her lips when he looked up slowly.
"That's today?" Dex asked, his voice a bit groggy.
"Yes, it is, and if you don't move from that stool, we're going to be late for the event we originally planned," Sophie answered, adjusting her midnight blue cape.
"Fine'" he muttered, leaving his gadget in the wooden table. He shrugged on his cape and patted his strawberry blond hair. "Let's get going."
"Thank you." She whipped around and rushed through the shelves of viles and medicines and serums.
"You know, you could've left without me," Dex said while they made their way to a Lightleaper.
"Why would I do that?" Sophie asked, clearly oblivious to his tone.
"You know..." Dex muttered while typing the location in the Leapmaster. "You could easily just hang out with them. Without me," he added quietly.
"Why would I go without you?"
"Why wouldn't you? I mean it's the Vackers."
"Yeah. And?"
"You guys are like... Famous! You might as well hang out with the celebrities than a..." He didn't finsh.
"I didn't ask to befamous, Dex. And... For the record, I'd much rather hang out with a Diznee in Slurps and Burps, than with a 'celebrity'," Sophie said with a quick breath. She then straightened her cloak and stepped into the Leapmaster. She then glittered away.
He was shocked. How could... The most powerful elf in the world, want to be his friend? A Diznee? Born from a bad match, and being teased for it his entire life and the one elf that triumphed everyone else, at least, in ability wise, is his best friend?
"What did you ever do to deserve someone as good as Sophie Foster?" He murmured to himself as he stepped and was whisked away by the light. "She'll never have a friend like me."
