I'm so sorry in advance please don't hate me I need friends. This is also going to be extremely cheesy. Don't forget to comment and vote! I love feedback! Now here your story:
After the chaos of Light Leaping (yeah I know it's midnight just go with it) and Grady and Edaline tearful cries, they decided it would be best if Tam stayed there for tonight. Edaline reapplied his bandages with a tears and gasps. All Tam did was wince or cringe. Finally with everything in the best condition they could make it, Grady and Edaline went back to bed and ordered them as well.
"I swear, I'm okay," Tam assured as he limped down the hallway. He hadn't looked into Sophie's eyes ever since they got back.
"Let me help you," Sophie said. "Please."
He looked down as Sophie pulled his arm across her shoulders. In silence, they both walked to the guest room (I don't think they have one bUT PLEASE BARE WITH ME).
"How's your... Arm?" Sophie asked, sitting at the edge of the bed as Tam climbed on. He had refused to let her help.
"It's numb. I can't feel anything on my left shoulder and down... But I'm sure you can guess that," he muttered, pulling the blanket on his lap.
"Will you be okay?" Sophie whispered after a minute. She tugged out an eyelash.
"Yeah... I'm sorry for worrying you, Sophie."
"It's okay. I just want you to be safe."
Tam stayed silent as she got up from the bed. She was just going to say 'Goodnight' when he cut her off and suddenly said, "Stay here with me."
"W-what?" Sophie stuttered. She blushed deeply.
"Just... Stay here with me... Please."
"Okay," she said smally as she walked over. She sat next to him in a chair, curling up her legs. "Do you wanna talk about it?" She asked, but has no intention about hearing his torture with the Neverseen.
"No. Just hold my hand," he whispered with sleepy eyes. His silver hair was in his face and the pillow squished his slightly pink cheeks, making her blush.
"Okay." She twined her fingers with his hand, and tried not to think about the warmness of his touch.
He closed his pretty aqua colored eyes. His breathing slowed and his grip loosened, meaning he was now asleep. She thought she would sit there for a long time, but he fell asleep quite quickly. After 10 minutes, just to make sure he was sleeping soundly, she let go of his hand and got up slowly.
"Stay here," he murmured. "If your uncomfortable, just come here." He gestured in the bed.
She jumped. "I thought you were asleep, Tam!" She whispered, clutching her pounding heart.
"Not anymore. Come here, Sophie."
She sighed and felt a ping of guilt as she said, "Tam..."
"I'm not going to sleep without you in the room."
"Fine," she groaned. "I'm doing this for you." She climbed on the bed with blushing cheeks and laid down on the other pillow.
"Good," Tam muttered. After a few minutes he fell asleep again, and eventually, after everything that happened, she did too.
_____________TIME SKIP_____________
It was 2:30 in the afternoon when Tam stumbled down the stairs.
"Good morning Sleeping Beauty," Sophie laughed at his bed hair, silver spikes poking out. A/n: omg can you imagine his bed hair I'm screaming thinking about it
"Who?" Tam asked, tilting his head. "Never mind, I don't want to know. Where's Edaline and Grady?"
"Down in the pastures."
"Ah." He sat down next to her on the couch, smoothing out his hair. "Where's Linh--" Then he stopped short. His eyes emptied out, and he started to remember what had happened.
Sophie but her lip as she reached for his hand. "You wanna invite Biana and Fitz and them over?"
"Sure." But he still looked empty. His hand squeezed hers.
"I'll go call them."
After a few minutes, everyone was at the house, asking questions Sophie dismissed for Tam. He still held her hand throughout the conversation, which Biana and Dex eyed suspiciously. Everyone asked about his arm and got real worried, but Tam brushed them off saying it was a big accident he will explain later. No one beloved him, but knew enough to shut their mouths.
"We have a lot to tell you guys, yes, but can we just hang out, please?" Sophie half begged.
"Fine," Dex said, then explaining his latest invention.
Keefe joked around, Biana laughed, Fitz watched and made comments and Dex ranted. Everything was fine... Except it wasn't. None of it was. Tam was suffering and no one knew except Sophie. He was going through hell and back by himself.
He lost a sister, his best friend, and a arm, how can no one not notice how much pain he's in. But just sits there, holding my hand and being emotionless, Sophie thought.
__________TIME SKIP TO HOURS LATER AT NIGHT__________
Sophie heard the Lightleaper start, and then Tam's voice. At first, she didn't think of it much, because she was half asleep. But the she realized that this could be dangerous. After tugging on boots and a tunic she ran done the hallway and to his room, which was empty, and she felt panic rise in her chest. She ran down the stairs it the Lightleaper and checked where he went.
The Crooked Forest.
Oh no.
She leaped, not even thinking twice about it, much less prepared. The pitch black took her by surprise but she quickly shouted, "Tam!"
No answer.
She raced in the forest, crying his name, begging him to hear her and answer. "Tam, Tam, Tam, Tam! Please answer me!"
Emotionally unstable was the scariest Tam. He couldn't talk right and he didn't think. This must've been the biggest impact of his life.
"Tam, please answer!" She shouted through her tears. She was fearing the worst. Thinking of all the millions of way this situation could go wrong. And she was right. Everything was wrong. He was off.
"Tam! Please!" She begged, gripping a tree. She felt warm tears spill off her cheeks.
"Sophie?" She heard the smallest whisper.
She screamed his name again. "Where are you Tam?"
"I'm here..." His voice whispered.
"Don't move Tam!"
"I won't... I can't."
She found him gripping to a tree, nearly hanging on it with dear life.
"What happened?" She demanded. The she saw his face.
She screamed and cried and stumbled back. His face was burned, red and patchy. His eyes were half closed and his hair was mangled with blood.
"Tam... Why? What-how-please-I--" she cried, reaching out to touch his face, but stopped.
"Fintan and Brant..." He choked out. He coughed and fell onto his knees. He sputtered, "I thought if I could give them information, they could leave alone, but... They didn't listen and... Burned me."
"Tam... You can die if we don't get out of here, we need to move quickly." Sophie grabbed his hand, which made him wince and shout.
"Just leave me here, Sophie. Get some help, I'll be fine."
"Im not leaving you." She growled.
"Come here, Sophie," Tam murmured.
"This is not the time to cuddle, Tam," she spat, racking her head through any solutions that involved them not moving.
"Sophie." He said again. "Come closer."
She sighed me leaned closer to him, so that they were nose to nose. Then he kissed her. It took her by surprise and she didn't know what to do, because she's never done this before oh my gosh he's kissing her what how--
He pulled away slowly and she was frozen on the spot.
"I needed to do that. Go get help now," Tam ordered.
"But--"
"Sophie if you've ever made anyone happy or smile please for the love of god get someone to help."
"Okay--" she stumbled off into the dark, still dazed from the kiss.
Wait.
Why was she getting help?
She had her Imparter in her pocket!
She raced back and stuttered as she told him she had a--
"I told you to go."
"But we can get help from my Imparter--"
"Why didn't you listen to me?" He groaned.
"What are you--" she gasped as she dialed Elwin. "Why are you acting this way? I'm trying to save you!"
"I don't want to argue as I'm dying, Sophie."
"You're not dying!" She argued. "Elwin! Come quick were at the Crooked Forest!"
"Sophie!"
"What Tam?" She snapped.
"I'm sorry."
"W-what--"
"I'm sorry for all the worry I caused you and how I never made a move to ask you out and I'm sorry how I'm sometime mean because I dint know how to express my feelings and I'm sorry for the way I treated your friends and I'm sorry about Linh and I'm so so so sorry for all the pain I've caused you and I'm sorry I never admitted I liked you until now and I'm sorry," he cried, tears falling down his cheeks.
She crouched next to him as he coughed again. "I forgive you."
He smiled, a real smile, as he coughed once again. "You were my Moonlark."
"You're not going anywhere Tam. You're going to stay by my side for the rest of my life." Sophie assured herself. But they both knew it wasn't true.
His head was on her lap, tears streaming down his cheeks as he stared at the twinkling stars.
"Were a the A Moonlark Song, haha," he laughed at himself. He stared at the stars while Sophie stared at him.
His eyes closed.
They never opened again.
