Zero Chronicles

Chapter Seven

Back in their hotel room.The three members of the gang were all tied together with a rope and were sitting on the floor.Two of them were still unconscious but the other one was already awake.Zero and Anya were sitting on the bed while Justine stands next to the three.The man was struggling to break free but the ropes were too tight.

Justine:Don't bother.We made sure that you won't easily escape.(looks at man)

The man starts shouting and verbally abusing the Agent but he was talking in his native dialect.Zero couldn't understand a thing and was unaffected but Anya and Justine were fully aware of what he was saying.His words pissed Anya a little as she stands from the bed and goes toward him.She then grabs him by the collar of his shirt and gives him a intimidating expression.The gang member tries to hide it but it was obvious to the Agents that he was very afraid.

Anya:You better watch your mouth you filthy bastard.You have no idea who you're dealing with.You're lucky that my friends are here because if we were alone,I would have broken your arms and legs a long time ago.
Zero:Easy there tiger.We'll get to that soon enough.

Unsatisfied,Anya lets go of the man's collar and returns to Zero's side.The man continues to shout and curse at the three.

Justine:Its no use.Shout all you want but no one is going to here you.This entire floor is empty so its pointless.

Even though he couldn't speak english,the man kinda understood what Justine was saying.He stops shouting and calms down.

Justine:Good.Now,I have a few questions to ask and I hope you'll answer each of them.Because if you don't,I can't guarantee that you'll leave this room uninjured.

Justine cracks his knuckles and gets ready for the interrogation.Before he starts,he turns to Zero and Anya.

Justine:Zero,Anya.Do you mind going to the other room? I prefer to do this alone.
Zero:Sure.Make it quick,alright?
Justine:That depends if he cooperates.

Zero and Anya leaves the room and close the door behind them.They were now is another room with a couple of sofas,tables and chairs.A huge flat screen television was hanging on one side of the wall.Anya makes herself at home and sits on the couch and grabs the remote for the television.Zero goes to the window and looks down at the city.It was already late in the afternoon as he watch the crowd of busy people on the street.Without looking away from the window,he talks to Anya.

Zero:Hey Anya.

Anya had already turned the television on but turns to Zero after calling her.

Anya:What is it?
Zero:Do you...want to come here again? I'll submit a proper request for a vacation soon.
Anya:Of course.I love it here!(smiles)
Zero:I love it here as well.Aside from the criminal activities,its a nice place to be in.
Anya:I agree.(giggles)

Suddenly,screams from the other room was heard.It was followed by cries in agony but Zero and Anya didn't pay too much attention.Zero joins Anya on the couch.

Zero:So,what are you watching?
Anya:Some old action movie that was quite popular here back in the days.I love watching vintage movies.
Zero:Thats a surprise.I never knew you liked these kind of things.
Anya:Well,now you know!(giggles)

The two continue to watch while ignoring the cries of pain from the other room.Around half an hour later,the door to the room opens and Justine walks out.He was wiping some blood on his hand with a small towel.Zero and Anya turns their attention to him.

Anya:So,how'd it go?(looks at justine)
Justine:After "persuading" him,he was willing to tell me all their hideouts in Manila.
Zero:Thats good.So,how many?
Justine:Five but they never stay put in one place for too long.After two to three days,they leave and find another place.But from what our guy said,they just moved so another hideout so they won't be leaving soon.
Zero:Thats good to hear.
Justine:And I have more good news.It seems like their boss is currently here.
Anya:Thats wonderful! If we take him out then his gang will surely disband!
Justine:Thats the problem.
Anya:Huh?
