It had been at least two hours since Kanda and I got back from the water park, but he was still in the bathroom. My wet shirt and swim trunks were slung over the tub to dry, and I was now wearing my usual sweatpants, but I paired it with one of Kanda's button-ups since I was sitting on the balcony, overlooking the parking lot and a creek that we crossed by bridge to get to the resort. It was strangely warm tonight, about fifty degrees with strong winds, my favorite type of weather.
I was a bit worried that Kanda was mad at me as I walked back into the living room, closing and locking the sliding glass door behind my ephemeral feet, and soon, I was back in the bedroom, sprawled out shirtless on the bed. Maybe when Kanda finally came out of the bathroom, I could make it up to him....
The clock was ticking closer to eight, and usually, Kanda would be beside me reading at this point, but he ha―
The bathroom door opening cut off my thoughts before Kanda lay on the bed next to me, making the room suddenly feel like a sauna. Really, he was completely dry and emanating heat, even his hair was void of moisture. Deciding to get on with the "apology", I straddle his hips, taking him somewhat by surprise as I clash our lips together, and I realize that he was only wearing his underwear. Good, he'll be happier sooner that way.
Suddenly, our positions are flipped, and I'm flat on my back as my boyfriend looks down at me, his signature smirk growing wider as I mewl, "Kandy, I want you to touch me...."
Not waiting another second, he greedily attacks my neck, and I moan quietly as he sucks on my collarbone. Unhappy with being left out of the action, I use my hands to try to slip my sweatpants off, but larger, calloused hands stop the movement. A disappointed whimper escapes my parted lips, and Kanda stops completely, moving up to my ear to whisper, "Quit trying to take your pants off."
Freeing my hands, I wrap my arms around his neck, "But―"
"I'm not mad at you, and even if I was, I don't want you to try to make up for it with your body," he says, pulling my waistband up from where it was at my mid-thigh. Flipping off the lamp that was lighting the room, he slips under the blankets, and after a moment of hesitation, I follow suit. After I was locked in his arms and nuzzled into his chest, he says into my hair, "You aren't a bargaining chip, Allen. I never want you to try to apologize with sex, ever."
"Fine," I say, not really caring. In my mind, my body was worthless, so as long as it's Kanda, I don't care what he does with it. Granted, I don't want him to beat me, but intimately it doesn't matter.
"Don't 'fine' me," he growls, and I see his jaw clench with either anger or frustration, I couldn't tell. "Promise me you won't try that again, and mean it."
Rolling my eyes, I fake my best meaningful tone, "I promise I'll never do it again, Kanda."
The arms around me retract, and all of the warm that had surrounded me left as he sat up, cross-legged as he watched me, his eyes practically daring me to lie again in the darkness. Sighing, I flop onto my back, staring at him as I grumble, "What?"
"I don't know. You're the one with the issue here," he replied coolly, not breaking the gaze. Shaking my head, I ask, "What do you want me to do?"
His gaze hardened before he closed his eyes, and I know that he is seriously struggling to keep his temper in check, but we both know that that tiny string he's grasping at is slowly thinning. Taking a breath, he exhales, "I want you to quit lying to me. Truly, I don't know if you think I'm too stupid to know the difference, or if you are trying to make me lose it, but either way, you should know that I know when you lie."
"It was still worth a shot," I say, suddenly feeling cold and burrowing into the blankets. Even though the bed was warm, and normally, in the cocoon I was in at the moment, I would be frying, I still felt like I was wrapped in ice, shivers wracking my small body. Kanda's eyes were open now, and I met the dark orbs, silently begging him to warm me like he normally would, but he never moved as I shook from the cold. I knew he wanted me to tell him why I was acting up, and I didn't really have a choice.
