Chapter 14

Niall's pov

I walked in the house and saw Jessica passed out on the couch. She looked so cute, her mouth was opened slightly letting out soft snores. Damn, she must really be tired. I picked her up, cradling her like a baby, she let out a quiet moan then spoke. "Niall? What are you doing? "

"We're going to bed, you need to get some sleep "

"no, I need to talk to you "

"can it wait till tomorrow princess? "

"no, I need to talk to you now " I walked back to the couch and sat down letting Jessica sit on my lap. She laid her head on my shoulder and I could feel her hot breath on my neck making it tingle.

"What's so important that couldn't wait till tomorrow? "

"About Carlie, please don't tell anyone, the only ones that know is you, mom, and Perrie. And I don't want people to get the wrong idea or something and I'm pretty sure she doesn't want everyone knowing she what happened"

"I understand, can we go to bed now? " I pressed a soft kiss to her forehead and she nodded leaning more into my lips. I picked her back up and carried her to the bedroom where we both drifted off to sleep.

*morning*

I woke up to feel a cold, empty space beside me. I opened my eyes to look for Jessica, but she was nowhere to be found. I heard some faint noises coming from the kitchen so I pulled myself out of bed to go check it out. I walked in to see Jessica washing dishes with her back to me. She was quietly humming a familiar tune then she started to sing

She finished the song and continued to hum the music. Every time I hear Jessica sing it makes me weak, her voice is just so beautiful. Listening to the lyrics she sang made me think of us, people say we're fools when we rush things, but when you love someone like I love Jessica, it doesn't matter, nor should it. I walked up behind her and wrapped my hands around her waist before kissing her neck. I saw her smile, when I rested my chin on her shoulder. "What ya doin? "

"Just washing dishes, it helps me think "

"what ya thinking bout? "

"I'm just worried about Carlie and Perrie and you and everything else crazy that's going on around here " she sighed like she had been holding the words in for a while.

"Why are you worried about me?"

"Because, you have a fight in less than three weeks "

"I've been in fights before, darling " I kissed her shoulder trying to reassure her it would be ok

"that doesn't mean I'm not gonna worry " I heard her voice crack like she was holding back tears and I squeezed her tighter burying my face in the crook of her neck.

"what time is it? "

"about nine o'clock "

"oh, shoot, you gotta get to school " I ran to the bedroom and pulled on a T-shirt and some jeans seeing as I was only wearing boxers before. I grabbed my wallet and my keys and ran back into the kitchen to see Jessica leaning against the sink gigging at me with her hand over her mouth. "why aren't you getting dressed? "

"I'm sorry I forgot to tell you, there was a fire at my school and I'm out for the summer "

"oh " I didn't know much else to say, but she was still giggling at my frantic rushing. "I guess I'll get a shower then. Want to join me? " I raised my eyebrow waiting for her answer. She leaned her head to one side and gave me an irritated smirk.

"I think you know the answer to that " she smiled and turned back around to continue washing dishes. I just quietly laughed it off and went to take my shower.

I was thinking about the fight as I let the warn water trickle down my bare skin. I have been in plenty of fights, but this one made me nervous, not the fact that I had to fight, but the fact that all the pressure was on me to save the gym. Simon and the boys were all counting on me to save the gym. The money from this fight would pay all the bills Simon missed, and this burden was almost killing me. But I couldn't show it, I had to be strong especially for Jessica, she has enough to worry about, I don't want her to worry about me.

Jessica's pov

I continued to wash the dishes and let my thoughts take over. I was a little worried about Carlie, she didn't call me yesterday and I guess I'm overreacting, but I thought she would call or text or something. I jumped when my cell phone started going off tearing me from my thoughts. I dried my hands and jogged over to answer it. Thank goodness it's Carlie.

(J-Jessica, C-Carlie)

J- Hello

C- Hey, I'm at the airport about to board the plane and I should be there around nine tonight, I'm still confused about the time, but that's what the lady told me

J- ok, I'll come pick you up, I'll see you then! Love you

C- Ok, love you too! bye.

After I hung up the phone Niall came walking through the door in nothing but a towel hanging dangerously low showing his v-line, I bit my lip looking him up and down, his hair was wet and left short blonde locks to lie against his forehead. "Who was that baby? "

"It was Carlie, she's gonna be here tonight! " I was so excited I could barely contain it, but Niall had a frown on his face "honey, what's wrong? "

"I had already made plans for you and me tonight "

"oh, you mean like a date? "

"yeah " he smiled blushing a little

"well, I could have someone else to pick her up. You know anyone who's free tonight? "

"I can ask some of the boys at the gym, but I think Harry's free, and I'm pretty sure he'll pick her up " I grabbed his hands and swung them.from side to side.

"So, what did you have planned for tonight? " he got close to my ear and whispered seductively

"it's a surprise " I shrugged at him, annoyed at his answer

"alright, but nothing sneaky, got that Horan? "

"Got it " he pecked my lips and went back to the bedroom to finish getting dressed. I was super excited about tonight and I hoped Carlie wouldn't be mad at me for not picking her up. I called her and explained why I wouldn't be picking her up, she seemed happy for me and told me to have fun. I explained what Harry looked like so she would know who he was. With that mop of hair I'm sure she couldn't miss him. Niall left for another day of training at the gym. I took a shower and gathered all my things to take home. My house was only a few miles away and it was beautiful outside today so I decided to walk. I got to my house, unlocked the door and went inside I sat my bag on the coffee table and plopped down on the couch. I was tired from the walk, man I'm out of shape. I heard a knock on the door, and suddenly got scared, I guess I'm just being paranoid, I reached the door and slowly opened it to see Niall's mom, Maura standing there.
