Chapter 34

June 1st

Niall's pov

I woke up feeling Jessica's face nuzzled into my neck. Her breath hitting my skin was giving me goose bumps and making me shiver. I was laying on my side with my arm draped over her. It feels so good to hold her, I'm so glad she wasn't upset with me. I've just been so busy with training that I've barely found any time for her. And I feel guilty for it, she's the most valuable thing in the world to me, and I should be spending all my time on her. And today is her birthday, I asked Simon if the boys and I could have a day off and he said yes, thank God! I definitely didn't want to leave my baby on her 17th birthday. I softly pecked her forehead and her eyes slowly fluttered open. "Morning baby " She lifted her head so I could see those beautiful hazel eyes, she smiled and placed a kiss on my neck. I hummed as her soft lips gently pecked my skin. She closed her eyes again, laying her head back against the pillow. I thought maybe singing to her would be a nice thing for her to wake up to on her birthday. I remembered a song she wanted me to listen to years ago and she told me she always wanted to wake up to it being sung to her.

Her eyes fluttered open once again and looked into mine. A smile spread across her face as she brought her fingers up to tangle in my hair. She pulled me close and kissed me passionately. We pulled apart, lightly panting.

"I can't believe you remembered that " I smiled back at her. I was admiring the beautiful girl lying beside me.

"Happy Birthday, Princess " I thought her lips were going to fall off from how much she was smiling.

"You remembered? "

"How could I forget " I hugged her tighter "my baby's turning seventeen today " She laid her head back on the pillow and stared at me, smiling. "I got a surprise for you " I whispered in her ear.

"You do?! " she asked excitedly

"Yep! So get up, get dressed, and meet me downstairs."

"Don't you have to go to the gym? "

"Simon gave me the day off " Her face lit up and she smashed her lips against mine. We pulled apart and I sat up on the bed. She hopped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. I got up and put some clean clothes on and just left my hair flat. I went downstairs and found Harry in the kitchen, wearing nothing but his jeans. He got a water bottle out of the fridge and looked up at me.

"Hey man "

"Hey " I walked over and sat on a bar stool. "So... what happened to you last night? " I asked, wiggling my eyebrows.

"I'm not telling " He chuckled and took a sip of his water.

"Oh, come on! You guys always make me tell what happens " He looked at me and smirked.

"Oh, Niall, I'm going to let you in on a secret. We don't actually want to know what Jessica does to you." I scrunched my eyebrows together, obviously confused.

"What? "

"We only did that because you were always the sweet, innocent one of our group who never got laid. And we thought it might be fun to see how well you reacted on the subject of sex " I dropped my jaw slightly and he busted out laughing.

"You assholes " I failed at being mad at them because, I started laughing too. "You horny assholes " We both were laughing so hard, until Jessica came down the stairs. She looked absolutely stunning. She was wearing a gray v-neck sweater. The bottom of it stopped at mid thigh, followed by dark skinny jeans and her white converse. Simple, but breathtakingly beautiful.

"I'm ready " she smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Let's go, birthday girl! "

Jessica's pov

We were on our way to...wherever we're going. Niall had his hand on my thigh, rubbing circles with his thumb. I slipped my hand beneath his and intertwined our fingers. "So, where are we going? "

"You'll see " I huffed and laid my head against the headrest. We pulled into a parking lot and I could see what looked like a carnival or fair close to the parking lot.

"Is that where we're going? " He grins and nods his head. I gasp excitedly and we get out of the car.

We had been walking around for a while now. I was getting tired, but I was having a great time. We played some games and Niall won me a stuffed elephant. Its so cute! We had hot dogs for lunch and afterwards We shared a funnel cake. This birthday could not get any more perfect. We were walking around, watching all the other people, when Niall's phone started ringing.

"Hello.... yeah.... ok, we'll be there soon " he hung up the phone. "Hey, We gotta go home, Harry has some kind of... emergency "

"Emergency? What's wrong? " I asked, worried.

"Erm... probably nothing. Carlie's probably having a mood swing and he's scared " he laughed, making me laugh as well.

We finally made it home. Niall parked the car and We got out. We got to the door and Niall opened it for me to go in. It was dark inside the house. It's around five o'clock so it's getting dark anyway. I walked in slowly and flipped on the light switch.

"SURPRISE!!!!!! " A mixture of voices yelled at me, making me scream and fall back into Niall's arms. He stood me back up where I could see everyone. I can't believe they planned a surprise party for me! Everybody is here. Carlie, Harry, Zayn, Perrie, Louis, Eleanor, Liam, and Josh. Each one of them hugged me and told me happy birthday. I was so happy! I got to Carlie and just squeezed her tight. We were interrupted by Louis tapping our shoulders.

"Presents! Presents! Let's do presents! "

"Ok, ok, calm down, Louis " Carlie said, trying not to laugh. I sat down on the couch as Carlie brought the first present to me. This is the best birthday ever!
