They were both in love with you though they would never admit it. So, when they both began fighting for you, their excuses were simply that of needing your help.
"I need her to help me protect the universe," The Doctor argues, crossing his arms as he takes a step closer to Sherlock.
"I need her to help me solve cases," Sherlock retorts, his arms folded behind his back. "She's staying with me."
"She's coming with me. I'm sure [Y/N] would much rather travel the universe with me than stay in London with you," The Doctor shoots back, poking at Sherlocks chest.
"She belongs in London. I won't let you get her killed," Sherlock growls, grabbing The Doctors hand and pushing him away.
"You're the one who will kill her," The Doctor hisses. "You're mental. Everything's a game to you."
"My love for her is not a game," Sherlock suddenly whispers, his line of sight falling to the ground.
"It may not be a game, but it will not last as long as mine," The Doctor replies quietly. You look between the two men, completely confused.
"Wait," you pause, scrunching your eyebrows together as you hold up both hands. "You both love me but you're just now doing something about it?"
"I've been trying to win over your love for decades," The Doctor whispers, looking at you with sad eyes.
"I found it quite hard to express my emotions. I usually do things subtly," Sherlock answers, he voice quick and almost full of panic.
"Who do you choose, [Y/N]?" They both question, staring at you intently.
On one hand, you can stay in London with Sherlock and save lives by solving crimes. You could see things through the mind of a genius. You could fall in love with someone you know won't disappear after a while. Someone who won't be in constant danger.
On the other hand, you could travel the entire universe, visiting different planets and meeting different people. You could help change people's fate and keep them alive. You could save thousands. But, The Doctor changes every now and then, becoming a whole new person. And, his life is in constant danger.
