"Do you two already know each other?" Darlene asked

"She's the one I hit with my car." Kyle said

Darlene looked over at me and slapped my head "Well why didn't you tell me Cassia Denise!" She scolded me

"Okay first OUCH! And second it wasn't important enough just me being clumsy." Darlene looked at me with a 'are you serious' look

She put her fingers on the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes "You get hit by my grandsons car, and YOU DON'T TELL ME?!?!?!?" She yelled not at all serious.

"Um yes?" I said but it sounded like a question

"You are lucky I love you." Darlene glared playfully at me

"I love you too Darlene!" I hugged her. Darlene then turned to her grandson.

"And you!" She pointed a finger at him " You told me you hit a pretty girl with your car but you failed to mention the pretty girls name. HOW DARE YOU HIT MY DARLING CASSIE WITH A CAR AND NOT TELL ME." She picked up a newspaper and proceeded to hit Kyle with it. I burst into laughter.

"Well thanks again for watching Dani but we better get going." I said walking out the door before stopping "Would you mind watching her tomorrow too? I have a date." I asked and Darlene stopped beating Kyle

"With whom?" Darlene asked

"Grant Benson I think he's one of Kyle's friends." I said

"Ah! Is he hot? Sure thing dear! She can sleep over if the date continues home."

"DARLENE!" I was shocked by her assumption "N-no I-it's not- I mean..." I was probably bright red right at that moment as I stuttered.

"What? Have you never done the nasty honey?" Darlene asked

"You're a virgin?" Kyle said "Actually I expected it."

"Neither have you done 'it' Kyle James Keller! So do not judge Cassie" Darlene said and my mouth dropped open before I quickly shut it. Kyle Keller is a virgin? But then again what would Darlene know about it.

They seem really close.

"Yeah I'm going to go before this gets more awkward for me." I said walking out of the room "Bye Darlene!"

"Bye sweetheart." Darlene called

"DANI! TIME TO GO! YOU CAN PLAY WITH ZACH ANOTHER DAY!" I yelled up the stairs. I heard Dani say goodbye to Zach before she appeared at the stairs top.

"Coming!" She said before slowly and carefully descending the stairs. When she made it within my reach a swung her down an she landed on her feet, giggling. I picked her up and sat her on my hip. "Cassie?" She asked

"Yeah?" I said

"Do mommy and daddy love us?" She asked. I was taken aback by her question. Does she really think they don't love her.

"They love us very very much. That's why they're always away. They have to work to keep the food in your belly." I said tickling her stomach. She giggled before laying her head on my shoulder before drifting to sleep. I flicked my bangs out of my face and saw Kyle watching me from the doorframe.

"Bye Kyle." I said before walking out the door and down the driveway.

"Cassie?" Dani asked another question sleepily as we walked back
