Song of the chapter: Heart to Heart. By Demi Lovato
"Can I kiss you right now?" Kyle asked
I nodded and Kyle lightly pressed his lips to mine. Just then the front door swung open and my parents walked in. Kyle was away from me and on the couch flipping through the channels within seconds.
"MOM DAD! YOU'RE HOME EARLY!" I squealed and ran over to them and hugged them.
"Yes we are. We wanted to surprise you. But we are only here for a few hours." Dad said glancing over at Kyle "We didn't interrupt anything right pumpkin?" He asked me.
"Oh no daddy. Kyle and I just finished studying and now we are watching TV." I said lying smoothly. I shocked myself with how awesome that sounded.
'Go you!'
'I like supportive Gurta better.'
'Gurta?'
'What? Gotta call you something. You can't always be the bitter voice in my head. Because you aren't always bitter.'
'Makes sense.'
"Cassie? Honey? Are you okay?" Mom asked "We lost you there for a second." She laughed
"Sorry just thinking." I laugh nervously
"Is this Kyle?" Mom says with a smile "Like THE Kyle."
"Mom" I whine
"Sorry. Hi I'm Mrs.Barker but you can call me Viv!"
"Nice to meet you Viv and you too Mr.Barker but I must be headed out now. Gotta go pick up Zach from Daycare." Kyle smiled shook hands with my parents and stepped outside.
"He's cute! Like really cute!" Mom squealed
"Oh boy." Dad sighed walking into the kitchen "I'm going to go pick up Dani. Vivian do you wanna come with me or girl chat with our daughter?" He walked back out holding our Sudan keys.
"Girl chat." Mom answers making me laugh. Dad nods and walks out the door. "You young lady are lucky your father is oblivious to everything out in the open." Mom says sitting on the couch.
"What do you mean?" I followed and sat across from her.
"Cassia Denise Barker now what have I said about having boys over when we are not home."
"Um nothing. You've never said anything like that," I say. And it was true. My parents sadly didn't think I could get a boyfriend so they never made any ground rules against having boys over.
"You're right." Mom said in realisation "Well still no boys over when we aren't home clear?"
"Yes ma'am." I say with a salute
"Now how was it!" Mom asked like a giddy teenage girl. She sat Indian style and rested her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands. She knew about the kiss.
"It was amazing. He was really sweet about it and asked me first." I sigh
"Ooh honey you got it bad." Mom says leaning back
"What. Pfft. No." I say
"What. Pfft. Yes." Mom mimicked my tone.
"Alright fine. I like him, a little." I admit "I think he likes me too."
"He better! You're a really catch!" Mom says
"Oh my gosh! I almost forgot! I really wanted to tell you this!" I said
"What?"
"Okay so you know Finn right?"
"You're really tall friend whom hits his head on every door frame in our house?" Mom asks
