I ran out of the front of the house and looked around frantically for my truck. Where did I park the damn thing! It being late October it was very cold out. I shivered and went inside to call for a taxi. The cab would show up any minute so I went back outside. A few minutes later a voice called out to me. Kyle.

"Cassie! Cassie wait!" He yelled and I turned around slowly.

"I am so sorry Kyle. I was drunk and I didn't mean to-" I started.

"I didn't follow you out here to listen to you apologise." He said

"Then why did you?" I asked "To yell at me? Scream that I'm a weirdo who you'll never date? To say-" I was cut off by Kyle's lips on mine. It wasn't the hot quick kiss that we just had. But slow unhurried butterfly like kisses.

"I came out here to tell you I like you. I like you a lot Cassie." He said

"What?" I asked

"I like you Cassie. I have since that day I hit you with my car." He chuckled "And you snapped at me."

"My birthday." I say quietly.

"That was what a month ago?" He said

"Yep. It does not feel like it though." I say "And Kyle?"

"Yes?"

"I like you too." I blushed "The while reason I came I this party dressed like this was to make you jealous. I would not have worn shorts this short in October for just anybody." I giggled

"And you certainly made me jealous." He said quietly. I did an inner happy dance because if I did it on the outside I'd be really weird.

"I have to go now. My ride is here." I say pointing to the taxi "Wanna tag along or party some more?" I ask

"Eh I'm done here." He says wrapping an arm around me and getting into the cab.

The drive home was quiet as Kyle played with my hair. We said goodnight and walked up to our houses. I plopped down on my bed after stripping down and getting into pyjamas and was out like a light.

"Cassie? Cassie?" A little voice brought me out of my dream. I groaned and opened my eyes.

"What is it Dani?" I asked worried when I saw the tears in her eyes.

"I had a really scary dream." She cried and crawled onto my bed. I wrapped my arms around her tiny body and kissed her head.

"It's all right Dani. It was just a dream." I mumble into her hair.

"Can you sing my special lullyby?" She asked cutely.

"Of course." I said and I cleared my throat.

All around the green valleys of Bonnie Wood Green.
