Song of the Chapter: Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran.
I parked my car and got out seeing Kyle sitting on a bench I signaled for him to follow me. We headed to my special spot. It was just in the woods. A clearing with a rock in the centre nothing special to the normal person. But to me this was the best place on earth. Nobody knows about it. Not even the twins. There are only two things I keep from the twins and Finn. This place. And the fact that I love to sing and play guitar. My mom taught me when I turned 13.
"Look Cassie. I am so sorry I did what I did. It's just Grant would have bullied you to no end and-" Kyle started but I cut him off.
"Hey, hey, hey. Ky it's okay." I said "I'm used to being bullied."
"You shouldn't be though!" He said "Hell I'm one of the people who bullied you! You were the first person to ever talk to me. To be friends with me! And I just gave up on you!"
"Ky..." I say quietly "It's okay. What hurt more than losing you as a friend was that you didn't remember me."
"I am so sorry Cassie. I'm so so sorry." He pulled me in and hugged me, mumbling apologies in my hair.
"But the point is you remember me now. And you're trying to make things right between us." I smile up at him sadly. I pulled out of the embrace, or attempted to. Kyle wasn't done. I wouldn't say this out loud but I liked the feeling of Kyle's arms around me.
"You changed you're hair." He said playing with my newly dyed locks.
"Back to the real colour." I say looking up at him.
"I like it." He smiles
"Me too." I say biting my lip. He let me go and held out a hand.
"I have lots to tell you." He says "You missed a lot during school this week."
"I know I talked to Hannah and Hailey." I say
"Did you hear about today?" He asked
"What? No. I haven't talked to them yet. Why, what happened?" I asked quickly
"Sandy and Grant were expelled." He said "A teacher found them out back by the lower lot smoking weed and drinking. It was really funny when they were arrested because Sandy kept trying to sweet talk the police into letting her go by telling them she'd show them a good time if they did." My mouth fell open in shock.
"Woah." I said "Our school is messed up." Kyle laughed.
"You have no idea." He smiled at me. It got quiet until I blurted something I'd almost forgotten about.
"Wait. What about that dumb party that your friend Dean was throwing?" I said then slapped a hand over my mouth. Maybe he wasn't paying attention...
"You're right! I'll pick you up tomorrow night" He said "We have a party to attend." Dang. He did hear me.
"Reallyyyyy?" I wined "I don't wanna!" I pouted and stomped away.
"Cassie grow up!" He laughed at my childlike behaviour.
"Growing up is poop." I say grabbing leaves and throwing them at him. He swiped his hand and made the leaves miss his face.
"Oh so you wanna play that game hmmm?" He asked an evil look in his eyes. Well poop. I turned and ran towards the pond on the other side of the woods. I ran looking down to make sure I didn't trip over anything. But with my luck a tree decided to grow smack dab in the middle of my path and I ran into it.
"OUCH! DUMB TREE!" I yelled before stepping around it. I heard laughter behind me. That little incident costed me precious seconds and when I turned my head I saw Kyle, about 2 feet away. I saw a glint of sunlight on water, through the trees and ran faster. The lake was now in full view and I ran onto the rickety old dock. I turned around and Kyle was running full speed at me. I smirked and just when he was about to grab me I took a side step. Kyle tried to stop but just ended up falling into the water. I was laughing my butt off when Kyle came out shaking like a dog.
