Kyle and I dropped Dani and Zach off at Darlene's and I basically dragged him up to my room.

"Why does he decide now is a good time to come visit?" I asked

"I don't know but he abandoned me my sister and my brother and he thinks he can just waltz right back into my life after 5 years? Zach wasn't even born when he left. Mom just found out she was pregnant the day that they finalised the divorce." Kyle said angrily grabbing his hair "How the hell am I suppose to get through a dinner with the man who abandoned my little brother my sister and I!"

"Ky, it's okay. It is going to be okay." I walked over and put my hands on either side of his face and forced him to look me in the eye "It will be okay." I told him. He looked back and forth between my two eyes the slammed his mouth against mine. I was a little shocked at first but then slowly started to kiss him back. What shocked me most was the amount of emotion behind the kiss, passion, desire, and something else that I couldn't quite place. I pushed my fingers through his hair and he pushed us back until the back of my knees hit something soft. My bed. I fell back and Kyle landed on top of me.

"Cassie?" Kyle asked pulling back.

"Yes?" I replied opening my eyes

"Will you come to the dinner with me? I don't know if I can do this by myself." Kyle said. Instead of answering I kissed him slowly as my answer.

"I'll take that as a yes." he chuckled against my mouth and I smiled back. I felt a warm feeling spread through my chest to my fingertips. That's the moment I realised I didn't just have a crush on Kyle. I was in love with him.

Kyle gripped my hand tightly as we walked towards the restaurant his father awaited in. On the car ride over I asked about his sister.

"She was older than I and knew that dad had been cheating on mom for the past year. She ran away and hated my father for what he did. She said she'd come back but she never did. She called Gran and told her she was coming to see me, and Zach. That she missed us and was sorry that she shut out us and wanted to meet her baby brother." Kyle told me "She's not going to be at the dinner, she called me while you were getting ready and said she would stop by Grans."

I was broken out of my memories by a mans voice "Hello I'm Michael, Kyle's father." he said

"Hi, I'm Cassie, Kyle's friend." I shook his hand "Its nice to meet you." I could tell by looking at him he was a business man who thought he was higher than the rest of the planet. I hated him already.

"Kyle, I hear you've been in some trouble lately." he scowled at his first born son. I squeezed his hand and told him with my eyes to be quiet.

"He hasn't been in trouble at school in months Mr.Keller." I say as politely as I can muster.

"I don't think I was talking to your girlfriend son." His father was clearly trying to get a rise out of his son. It was really pissing me off.

"She's not my girlfriend Mike." Kyle said calmly

"I am your father and you will address me as dad." Mike snapped we were sat at the table and I ordered a chicken tortilla and spicy rice with coleslaw.

"That's a lot of food young lady are you sure you should be eating like that?" Mike said to me, I suddenly felt very self-conscious it wasn't that much food was it? I stared down at my plate and slowly ate my food.

"Dad!" Kyle said with wide eyes

"What?" He said innocently

"That was really rude! Cassie is perfect the way she is and shouldn't need to worry about the amount of food on her plate." my head snapped up and I stared in shock at Kyle.
