~~~~~~~~~"Honey," Mum calls. "Since your party is tomorrow why don't we have a family party tonight? You know, you can pick what we have for dinner, a movie we watch?"
I laugh. "Sounds perfect Mum."
She smiles. "What would you like?"
"Hmmm... Pasta?"
She nods and begins making the dish as its already 5:30.
"Can Thunder come inside tonight?" She shakes her head but has a smile imprinted on her face.
"Just tonight. Plus there's going to be a storm tonight."
"Thanks Mum!" I shout as I walk outside once more.
I start towards the round pen. Our farm rescues and relocates unwanted horses.
Its quite sad to see so many are without homes.
My favorite horse here was a paint stallion the name of Zeus.
I walk into his paddock and shift.
"I'll never get used to that I don't think." He tells me. I feel really bad as he's been here for nearly two years and no one wants him still.
"Hello Zeus."
"Hey Kat." He replies through mouthfuls of grass.
"So how's life?" I ask. He raises his nose into the air before lowering it.
"That new mare,"
I smile, well as much as a horse could smile. "What about Flicka?"
"Flicka," he says in a dreamy tone.
"You like her?!"
"Well we haven't met properly but when she was being led to the barn yesterday she nickered at me." If he was human his face would be plastered with a big goofy smile. I shake my head.
I close my eyes and picture myself as Alisa once more.
I feel the shift and am once again thankful of the fact we shift in clothes.
"I'll be right back." I tell the 16h.h stallion.
He likes her!
'No sh*t Kat!'
It's good that she likes him too then.
'How so you know that?!'
The way she looks at him.
'Wow.'
Yeah I wonder what our mate will look like.
'Not worth wondering no need to get false hope.'
