The party was wild.
Well, the party animals were wild at least.
Literally wild.
We'd all galloped over so Zeus, Flicka and Thunder could come too.
It wasnt that far just a couple of kilometers and right now the toxic smell of underage drinking fills my sensitive nose.
"Hey Mum!" I shout over the noise. "I'm going outside for fresh air!" She nods and I walk outside.
I walk to the edge of the clearing where the reserve is positioned.
The music drones on and I can still hear the words to Queen's We Will Rock You from nearly one-hundred meters away.
I weave my way through the trees and undergrowth being careful so I don't rip the new leather jacket I received earlier this morning.
Here seems like a good spot.
Kat tells me.
'Yeah.'
Its really to bad he's not there.
By 'he' she means my mate.
'Yeah.'
Yeah
'Yeah'
Yeah
'Yeah'
ARE YOU JUST GOING TO KEEP SAYING 'YEAH'?!?!
'Ow Kat! No need to scream, you are in my head!'
Sorry.
I brush off her apology and transform into my horse form.
I break into a canter and fight off letting Kat take control.
Oh sh*t
'Kat, what's wrong?'
The smell hits my nose before she can answer
Werewolves.
She's right. Oh sh*t.
I slam to a halt and nearly fall over.
Pictures of my family play over in my head.
'This is it. Goodbye Kat. You've been a good horse. Goodbye Mum, Dad, Jane, Thomas/Thunder-'
Just shut the hell up would you?! We aren't going to die!
Eyes shine through the trees.
Wolves surround me. One in human form sits atop a liver chestnut gelding.
"Well, aren't you a pretty girl?" He's old. Maybe fifty. He gets of the gelding and holds his reins in one hand whilst he reaches out to pet my nose with the other. I lift my head and give a small rear making him back away.
