I step forward and rub my head against his shirt. Zaiden laughs.
His laughter stops once I push my head forward making him fall backwards into the water.
"OH MY GOD!" He gasps. "That's cold!"
Wow. He catches on fast.
I nicker at him.
"Oh," he crosses his arms. "So that's the game you want to play, huh?"
He walks backwards onto the sandy shore of the river bank and I follow him. He turns and walks onto the grass.
I ignore that and decide to roll in the sand.
"I JUST BRUSHED YOU!" I whinny and get my hooves underneath me once more.
"Come here girl." He says. I do as commanded and slowly trot over to him.
He moves back just as I reach him.
I go towards him again and he turns and runs.
After him!
For five minutes we chase each other around the small clearing until he strips and shifts.
Together we play.
Wolf and horse. Horse and wolf.
Like the perfect play mates we chase each other and play fight.

I tiredly stand under the flow of water as it lulls me closer to sleep.
Its about lunch time and we've played all morning.
I get out from under the water when Zaiden calls me.
"Here we go." He says whilst once again clipping the lead rope onto the halter.
I was so tired I didn't remember much of the walk back. Only the ever passing trees before we reached the white pack house. Then being put in my stall.

I wake to a meow.
Meow?
I open my eyes to see a black cat sitting on the door. Currently the top half is open so I can stick my head out if I wish.
"Hello." The dark figure says.
What the?
"We can talk. You can understand me, I can understand you."
"H-h-how?"
"It's simple really." The cat say whilst jumping down into the stall. "I was the pet of a witch once, she cast a spell over me so that I can communicate with any species of animal."
Creepy.
"Right."
"My names Patch."
"Kat. Well Alisa. Well... both kinda. Its complicated."
"You're a shifter, I know." Patch explained.
