Over the course of the next few weeks Zaiden and Nari run me in circles around the round pen multiple times.

Zaiden has also taken me to his clearing a few times.

Its only a week until Zaiden turns seventeen and I already have my escape planned.

Currently Zaiden runs after me in the round pen with a saddle blanket.

Its the first time he's tried to put it on me. The past few days he's had it sitting on my stall door trying to make me believe it won't hurt me.

"Come on girl." He coaxes whilst Nari -who stands on the other side of the pailing fence- laughs.

"Zaiden?" Mayah says as she comes closer to the fence.

She's not as bad as you'd think. You know, typical sl*t who dates the soon-to-be-Alpha. Not Mayah.

She's not a sl*t at all. In fact, Zaiden told me she's learning to be pack vet.

"Yeah." He answers whilst giving up on the chase.

"You know how I turned 17 last week right?" Its true, she did. Most thought that the reason she hasn't found her mate yet was because her mate was Zaiden.

"Yeah?"

"Well I was in town earlier today and... and..."

"And what Mayah?"

"Well... I found my mate."

"Congrats Mayah! Who is it."

"Ummm... well, she's the Omega from the Lunar Eclipse pack."

She?!

'What's wrong with that Kat?'

She's not one I pictured to be a gay.

'Its a lesbian, gays are boys. Its sexist, I know. And I think its actually bi-sexual as she also had feelings for a guy. But don't hold it against me.'

Oh.

"So are you moving there or is she coming here?"

"We were hoping she could move her, you know, because she's an Omega she wants to be something more than that."

Zaiden nods. "Congratulations. I'm happy for you."

"Thanks." He turns back, ready to start chasing me once more. "I'm sure that, you're mate, will totally be the best thing that's happened to you."

And with that, she leaves.

"What does that mean Zaidie?" Nari has her head cocked to the side making her look like a puppy. Which she technically was.

"It means that Mayah has found her mate."

"And its not you?"

"No," he says glumly. "No its not me."

"Oh," she climbs through a gap in the fence and runs up to him and wraps her small fragile arms around him. "I'm sure your mate will be much more beautifuller than her."
