"Get in." I said to Cas, without even thinking.
He listened, but sat in the back seat... He was really shy, wasn't he? He was sitting awkwardly. I turned around in my chair and looked at him.
"Something wrong?"
He looked uneasy, but I would fix that soon.
"Okay... If you're sure."
I knew he wasn't. I drove to my house. My ugly, old, worn out house. It's all I could afford for Sammy and me, at least it was a place to stay.
"Don't mind the way it looks. It's not much, but its home."
He didn't seem to mind, but I felt a little embarrassed about it. I took him to my room.
"This is where I do my homework."
He was looking around curiously, like he was mesmerized to be in my room. Heh.
"You want some food? How about a beer? I have some beer if you want. I know I want one."
"No, thank you."
I saw that someone knocked his lunch out of his hands earlier today, so I brought him food, anyway. Cold pizza and beer. The best supper there is. Cas looked kinda skeptical.
"Well? Go ahead" I smiled and gulped down my beer.
"We can... Work on... 'Applications of the Derivative'..." He said that slowly, he was busy looking at me drinking.
"Do you know derivatives?"
"No."
"... Well..."
"What math are you in, anyway?"
"... Analytic Geometry... And-... AP Calc..." He went through his bag and pulled a huge book out of it. I made a face, I despise math. He went searching through the book and put some papers in his mouth. Then he dropped his book on his foot, making his mouth open, dropping all of his papers.... I helped him pick everything up as he started writing things out on a scratch paper.
"... Woah. Uh..." I felt stupid.
"Well... How do you learn best? Reading the material? Notes? Or experience?"
I smirked. He looked a little surprised, and nervous.
"I'd say I learn best through experience, yeah." I said that in a way that made him even more nervous. That was cute.
"Okay then." He crumpled up his paper and took index cards out, as if we were actually here to study.
He showed me the first card, "Do you know how to solve this?"
I finished my beer and squinted at the card, playing stupid because I wanted to see what he would do.
"Mm. Nope."
He thought I was actually stupid.
"This one?"
"Nada."
Heh, this was gonna be fun.
