Pain, loss, regret;
That is what defines a man.
But what defines you, Doctor?
The memories of days gone by,
The lives you couldn't save,
The fear you hide inside.
Yet love is all about,
The mysteries and majesty;
A lonely man with two hearts.
Running for the sake of life,
Going anywhere and everywhere,
All of time and space,
Outside of those doors.
So remember the love,
Happiness and quirkiness,
Don't forget the adventures,
Because when it's time to go;
It's best to have the best of you
Nearby to say goodbye.
A/N: Like the title says, this is a poem exploring briefly the emotions of the Doctor, and also a slight tribute to The Impossible Astronaut and the Day of the Moon episodes from season 6 of Doctor Who.
