Amy P.O.V.
Are you kidding me?! There's a basement to this hellhole!
The front door was kicked open with a swift, sudden movement. The noise scared me so much I jumped and grabbed the knife immediately.
"Those fish in the creek are still ther- um, Amy, why do you have a knife in your hand...?" Drake said, the abrupt realization appearing in his eyes.
"Oh jeez Drake you scared me shitless there for a second! Oh and did you know there's a friggin' basement here!" I said gesturing towards the door like some insane person. He glanced at me, then to the door, his face turning pale. Only until now did I notice he had the berries, which I might add, they looked delicious.
"Golly!" Drake said, surprising the both of us, then clamping his mouth shut, the color in his face going from pale to a ghastly grey. What the hell? He never says old-fashioned words like golly! His vocabulary only consists of 'dude' and 'whoa bro'! Not anything near golly!
"What is happening?" I asked, feeling myself get a bit panicked, my breath getting heavy and quick. I think Drake recognized the look, and thank the lord, changed the subject.
"Maybe we're feeling a bit sick from not eating in a while. We should just eat the meal and sleep it off." He said with a suggesting shrug. It calmed me some, but I was still shaken up from the ordeal.
We sat down at the small, yet weirdly sturdy table. The meal looked wondrous compared to any other food I've ever eaten. I shoved a fork into the fish, and to my surprise it was well cooked. I inspected the piece, then thrust it into my mouth. After chewing, it was the best fish I'd ever eaten in my entire 16 years of life. Sadly it may only be 16 years. I couldn't help myself, I let out the biggest moan, which must have turned Drake on, since his neck turned a deep red. He looked down, ate a piece, and had the same reaction. He looked up after he was done, and saw me staring. We both burst out into giggles.
"Goodness, we are the weirdest couple ever!" I said trying to catch my breath. After a while, we settled down and practically gobbled the meal down our throats. We sat there staring at each others eyes, feeling happy and content. I'd forgotten about the basement, that is until the tapping resumed. I groaned closing my eyes.
"You know we're going to have to go down there eventually right?" I said opening my eyes, glancing at his baby blue orbs. He sighed saying, "Yeah, I know but we'll stick together right?", he finished gazing at me waiting for an answer.
"Blimey, Drake you're so charming." I said, grasping what just came out of my mouth. Okay now this is getting weird, I mean I've never said that once in my life! He comprehended the phrase, his eyes widening.
"What is happening?!" I repeated angrily. He shrugged, looking as lost as me. We could really use some help from Ben and Sarah. Where do they even go?
The door was thrown open by an invisible force, and in walked, well more like ran, Ben and Sarah. Speak of the devil.
"We came here as fast as we could. Now tell me, are you two experiencing changes in your words, like, uh, say 'old-fashioned' words?" Ben said rapidly, and out of breath? Could ghosts even do that? I must have been staring because Sarah got irritated quickly and said, "Are you going to tell us or not?!" She looked flustered.
"I guess you could call it that, but it happened just now? How did you guys figure it out?" Drake said, almost interrogating them.
"Let me explain. It's only going to get worse, the shoes, th-there latching on to your souls, making you seem more like Sarah and I. It's a very odd concept that I hardly understand myself, but we do know why it's happening. The reason why is because you're taking to long to destroy Mrs. Anderson's soul. We've never told anyone this, but, sh-she gave us those shoes." Ben finished, trying but failing at swallowing a lump in his throat. Sarah saw the change in his emotions, and continued on.
"When she gave us the shoes, we weren't able to take them off like the predicament you've gotten yourselves into. Her soul has turned dark over these many years. Her one desire is to stay on Earth as long as possible, to keep us here, and by tormenting youthful teenagers. She might have been a witch, but we don't know for sure. The only way you can rid her soul from this world, is to exorcise her. But you will need to go in the basement to retrieve some items to aid us in the exorcism. Sadly, we will not be able to guide you. She's created some shield blocking us off." She concluded.
"What do we need to get?" I said eyeing her curiously.
******* (Btw, I'm not sure if this is how you get rid of a demon so if I'm wrong please correct me)
"First, you need a bible which should be in that bookcase." Sarah said, nodding towards it. Ben walked over and after searching he found it, the leather spine slowly deteriorating. He flipped it onto the front, and there shone the words in a fading gold, The Bible.
"Done. What's next?" I said. She took the bible from Drake's hands and started flipping to a certain page. I looked over to Ben, but he was just leaning against the wall, almost in a brooding way, with a grim look on his face.
"Ah, here it is. Once you trap her, you must recite these words. It's in Latin, but you should be able to pronounce it." Before we could ask anything else, she continued on. "Now, to trap her, you must draw a pentagram on the ground, which should trap her so you can recite the words in time."
"D-did you say, a-a pentagram?" Drake said going pale.
"Yes. Why? Is that something you're supposed to be afraid of now-a-days?" She said tilting her head in a confused way.
"Um, well Drake's family is Catholic, and they don't exactly allow Drake to be near, or even talk about pentagrams." I said explaining for Drake. She nodded knowingly, and walked over to the bookcase. She then pulled out a random book, well what seemed like a random book, and took off the 'cover'. It was actually a wooden box, with some red chalk and two necklaces with a cross on each. They must have been rosaries. She handed one to Drake and one to me. Afterwards she gave me the chalk, saying it was what we needed to use to draw the pentagram.
"When you call out to her to get her attention, make sure you mention Ben and I," She nodded towards Ben who just stood there,"but she may already be waiting. No one's ever gotten this far, so you need to be careful. She is smart, but I know you can do it. We believe in you."
Taking in this new information, Drake glanced at me and I gave him a reassuring look.
Ben finally stood up and walked over to the bookcase, and pulled out some weird book. He looked at Drake and nodded, I don't know why. Drake looked like he wanted to ask something, but shook his head instead.
Time to kick some demon ass.
