Ben P.O.V.

"Hold still boy. You move, I shoot." A familiar voice growled.

"D-dad?"

*******

"Yeah, it's me. Now take your hands off the girl, and no one gets hurt." He grunted, gesturing the gun towards Sarah. I slowly pulled my arms off of her waist, meeting her eyes. She looked scared. I gradually put my hands behind me head.

"Good. Walk away young lady, or you're gonna get it." Sarah trembled, walking backwards, also putting her hands behind her head. Her hazel eyes were almost glowing because of her crying. Suddenly, Drew yanked my hands off my head and threw me to the ground. Before I could do anything, he whacked his gun against my head, knocking me into darkness. All I remember is Sarah's voice crying out. Losing consciousness, my last thought was for Drew to not lay a finger on her.

I woke up in a bedroom. Oh wait, it's my old one. I was covered in blankets. My head throbbed horribly. Maybe this is what a hangover feels like. Lifting my hand, I felt a bandage on my forehead. At least the asshat stitched me up. I then saw a swift movement in the corner. I snapped my head towards the action, instantly regretting it. Groaning and squinting my eyes shut, I heard a familiar voice say, "You're up, thank the lord!" I sat up, trying to get a better view of the voice.

"Andrew?! Is that you?" I asked, feeling tears brimming my eyes.

"Yep buddy ole pal, it's the one and only Andrew Franklin Douglas! Now, let's see that noggin of yours." He said getting up from a chair in the corner. I studied his face. He has blueish-green eyes, and instead of brown hair like mine, he has dirty blonde hair. He also has Ma's nose, with freckles dotting his cheeks, just like me. He's very mischievous without the authority of adults, but when they are around, he's polite and listens very well. He reached up to take the bandage off me to change it out so I wouldn't get an infection, which resulted in me grimacing and groaning. It hurt like hell. "Sorry Benny, didn't know it was that bad. Drew sure knocked your brains out!" He said using my old nickname while trying to joke around, though I could tell there was concern laced in his voice. Good ole Andrew. Just wish he wasn't named after 'Drew'.

He gently unraveled it, being careful around the gash. After replacing the gauze, I decided to make some small talk. "So, how's that Mary Croft gal? You still got eyes for her?" I joked, trying to lighten the mood. "She's one fine doll, I'll admit. But, she's not my type. Too, 'sophisticated'." He said using air quotes. We both laughed.

"Okay, Ben I know you're trying to avoid the obvious, so let's just get straight to the point. Right after you got knocked out, I heard screaming outside. I ran outside towards the sound when I saw you on the ground bleeding, I knew I had to do something. The screaming was Sarah. Don't worry, Drew didn't do anything to her, she was just scared at the moment. Drew was trying to drag you away, so I told him to, excuse my language, 'fuck off'. He must have been pissed, and I can tell by that smirk on your face you're probably proud." I snickered at his remark. "As I was saying, he must have been pissed so I guess he just took off. Sarah helped me take you in, and bandaged you up. I should probably tell her you're up, or she might knock me senseless." He explained. Thank goodness she's okay. I let out a sigh of relief that I was holding in for so long. How does that boy know me so well?

Suddenly the door swung open, and for a moment I thought Drew came back for more, but it turns out it was just Sarah. "Oh goodness! Oh my, oh my, you're awake!" She ran over to me, cupping my face in both her hands. She then started showering me in kisses. I started giggling until Andrew said, "Oh get a room you to." She stopped, and we both looked over at him. We all started laughing until our sides hurt. For a moment, it was like all our worries vanished. But not all wishes come true.
