I watch Terra as the planet grows bigger and bigger as we approach. I cannot hide my excitement as I cannot stay still, wandering around the room looking through all the windows awaiting anxiously for landing. Ike chuckles at me as he watches me. Mother turns around periodically to smile at me as well as she stands at the main console.
I feel the ship enter the atmosphere, as the entire thing shakes violently for a very short moment, "Now entering the atmosphere," Mother says, as she turns to begin pushing buttons and adjusting slider controls.
She keeps flipping levers and pushing buttons until the red lights are all green and the ship tilts itself to prepare for descending through the atmosphere. As the ship tilts, Ike grabs my waist and holds me still during the process, because I was much too excited to heed my mother's warning to stop moving until we land.
"I can't wait to see my father,"
He nods in agreement, "Mine as well,"
"And Lucina. And her father. And Myst. And Roy. And Eli—" I say excitedly as Ike chuckles at me again. I let out a huffy sigh, "It feels as though I haven't been here for eons,"
"Now preparing for landing," Mother says over her shoulder as she starts another sequence of adjusting the controls on the main console, turning red lights to green ones.
The body of the ship starts humming louder as the engines starts to work harder. Sounds of air speedily passing by outside fills the room as the ship spins itself into landing position. The ground begins appearing and lavish trees start popping up outside the windows.
I have missed these trees. Their deep green color and the strong smell of flowers from my gardens are the smells of home.
As mother steadies the ship, it gently lands onto the ground as I feel the movement go still. Mother flips a couple more switches as I excitedly wait for her to open the main door leading outside the ship. Ike removes the suit, places it into the compartment right inside the doors and takes my hand as mother starts opening the door. It opens with a hiss as the strong scent of flowers reaches my nose and the bright colors of the forest reaches my eyes. My eyes glisten as I take in the sights and my eyes land on a figure amongst a group of them, a smile appearing on my face. I am sure Ike smiles as well as he watches my expressions change rapidly on my face.
