CHAPTER 24: Eighteen
Kyle's POV
I'd taken a picture of the business sign and I'd ran to my house. Once inside, I looked at the picture I'd taken and scribbled down the number. I dialed the number and called David.
"D- David", I shakily whispered over the phone, "It's Kyle"
"Kyle", he sounded surprised, "You ran into group and left like a total lunatic. Speaking of which, you haven't been coming to group. What-"
"I messed up! I messed up big time!"
He was silent and I heard what sounded like the opening of drawers followed by the shuffling of papers. "Sex addict...", he finally said, "Who was it with?"
"My girlfriend's sister." I measured out my breaths trying to compose myself.
Girlfriend... I think this was my first time calling her that...
"Tell me from the top. You never spoke in group other than that brief introduction. I know little to nothing about-"
"Fuck, okay... My girlfriend", I stopped realizing I'd said it again, but I continued, "She was out and I usually chill at home with her little sister and-"
"How old is she? The little sister."
"Fifteen, but anyway, I-"
"And you're what?"
I was starting to get annoyed. "I'm seventeen...", I said as he shuffled through papers.
"Eighteen." He softly said.
"Fucken shit!", I exclaimed, "Seventeen. I'm seventeen, David. Legal shit says seventeen. Okay? Can we just... Please? Yeah?"
"Yeah, yeah. Different matter", he cleared his throat, "Continue"
"I've always messed a bit when I'm alone with her. Like I'd always end up kissing her or some shit, but she's just really kissable and fuck, I-"
"'Kissable.'" David repeated.
"Man fuck you, David! Can you just fucken listen to me and tell me shit after? Like I'm trying to open up and shit!"
He was silent and I immediately got reminded of her- her obnoxious little moments of silence.
"Kyle, I don't think this is a conversation to have over the phone. I think-"
"In person?"
"Yes, that would be most-"
"Yeah, yeah cool. Where?"
"Where would you feel most comfortable discussing-"
"Here", I immediately said, "I- I don't exactly want to go anywhere..."
"Very well then "
I told him my address and I began losing my shit after like ten minutes of him not being there.
Fuck, how could I have been so stupid? It was just so natural!
The sudden knocking sent me running to the door and I hastily opened it.
"Good evening, Kyle"
"Yeah, yeah. Cut the formalities. Just get in. I really need to get this off my chest", I pushed him in and I shook my head as I closes the door, "Someone needs to know..."
David nodded and I welcomed him into my home. He sat down and I felt like an asshole and it was awkward so I offered him something to drink.
He declined. "No, thank you," He said and pulled out a notepad from who knows where.
