CHAPTER 11: It's Complicated
Kyle's POV
I make my way to Janis's house and once I arrive, I pound on the door; however, no one answered.
"Janis," I call out.
The door opens and I enter.
"Where's your sister?" I ask and look around.
"She's not here yet," Wendy mumbles.
I look at Wendy, who was blushing massively, and I smirk. I sit down on the couch and pat on the seat next to me. Wendy slowly walks over and cautiously sits down.
"You're birthday is coming up, right?"
She nods.
"Do you want me to be here on your birthday?" I ask suddenly.
She shrugs.
I frown at her lack of speech. "What's wrong?"
Wendy looked up at me. "You're dangerous, Kyle."
An amused grin creeps up my face. "No I'm not, kid. I won't hurt you."
Wendy smiles and hugs me tightly. I suck in a breath, but hug her back.
"You're so tiny" So fucken perfectly tiny.
Wendy pulls back, her eyes wide.
"Fragile," I trace her jawline with my index finger, "and very lovely."
Wendy tries to swat my hand away, but I grab her wrist. Yet, she somehow manages to slap me with her other hand. I mentally curse and I close my eyes for a moment. I open them again, smirk at her, and grab her other wrist, pinning both wrists above her head with one hand.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you..." I reassure her as I play with the hem of her shirt.
I lean in and press my lips on hers. She forces her lips into a tight, straight line and jumps when my hand creeps up under her shirt. She suddenly begins to cry. I stop immediately and sigh. I let go of her wrists and I run my other hand through my black hair.
"Why can't I ever get my way with you two?" I ask out loud.
Wendy sit up and look at the floor.
I turn to look at her. "Especially you...", I murmur and when she blushes I can't help but smile, "There's just something that makes me-"
The front door flies open and Janis rushes in looking like the devil himself was after her.
"Wendy! Are you alright? Kyle! What did you do?!" Janis shrieks.
Loud as always.
"I'm fine, Janis!", Wendy says, "Kyle, he- he didn't do anything so you can relax."
Janis sighs in relief and turns to face me "So how were your classes?" she asks.
I spaced out on her question.
"Kyle!"
"Huh? What? Oh! The- the classes they- they were... They were..." I stutter like an idiot and glance at Wendy, " complicated."
Complicated just like her. Fuck...
"And you were making a big deal out of it!" Janis mutters.
I get up, abruptly. "Fuck yeah! Those classes are crap and a complete waste of my time, Janis! I could be doing other things you know!"
"Like what? You'll probably go screw someone! I highly doubt you're gonna go spend time with your family or something!!" Janis yells back.
I unwillingly flinch at the word family. "You're right." I walk out the door.
