I walked, or more like hobbled, down the stairs. My feet were already starting to hurt but I wasn’t going to change shoes now. I moved Nova off the couch before sitting down and turning the television on to some movie channel. I was waiting for the girls to get here so we could go shopping, I was very reluctant to go but then I thought that I needed to buy some things for the baby and I also need some new clothes seeing as how most of mine are getting too small. Thankfully I only had two more months to go before my girl would be here. Even if the thought still scared me shitless I knew there was a whole bunch of stuff we actually still need.
I wasn’t interested in the movie on instead I was listening to the rain pelting the side of the house, making the house sound eerie. I was home alone this morning, Niall was at the studio working on new music, I think.
“Hello Courtney? Are you ready?” I heard a voice call throughout the house. I made my venture off the couch and walked into the foyer to find Eleanor waiting for me. She gave my outfit a once over before rolling her eyes and hugging me.
“You’re seriously not wearing heels today are you?” She questioned as she pulled back.
This time it was my turn to roll my eyes at her. “Yes, I am and I’ll probably be wearing heels for the rest of the rest of my pregnancy.” That made her laugh and shake her head but what I said was basically true; even if I am with child I’ll still be wearing heels maybe they’ll be short ones but still.
“You’re crazy babe.” She muttered as we walked out the door and got into her car. I didn’t reply to her instead I changed the subject. Eleanor started the car and made her way down the street.
“So are we picking up the other girls or meeting them?” I asked as I turned down her radio so she could hear me.
“No, something about school or having to go into the studio, basically we’ve been flaked on.” She laughed as she gave me a shrug. I didn’t feel the need to push the conversation further so I turned the radio back up and listened to whatever song was playing.
“Look at this.” Eleanor pulled up a cute little dress that I had to admit was cute if my daughter was going to do a pageant. I shook my head no and watched as the smile on her face slowly went away. She sat the dress back on the rack and continued her search.
I shook my head at her so far she’s already put a whole bunch of clothes into the trolley. I’ve protested but it’s no use, she’s dead set on buying this child so many articles of clothing that she’ll have more than I do. Let’s not even mention the shoes she’s already got from Niall and the boys. If she’s not the least bit a tomboy then Niall and Louis have a problem with the ones they bought.
“Hey El, it’s almost one can we go and eat?” I asked as I pushed the trolley through the isle towards the checkout station. Her head snapped towards mine and she almost attacked me with her eyes.
“Holy crap, we’re late. Come on, I’ll pay and then we have to go.” She rushed towards me and took the trolley from my hands. “Go ahead and go to the car, I’ve got these.”
I gave her an okay and then left the store to get into her car. About five minutes later Eleanor opened the backseat door and shoved about seven bags in the car. My eyes went wide but she shushed me as she got into the driver’s seat and started to leave the side of the street.
