As I lay on the rotting hard wood floor I couldn't get to sleep not only were my thoughts running wild but my stomach was in complete agony. It felt like it was trying to claw its way out of my stomach.

I clutched my stomach in an attempt to subdue the sharp twisting pain but all I got was a loud growl from the depths of my abdomen.

The pain was unbearable, so I decided to try and distract my mind from it by going for a run in the forest. After all I do love running.

I staggered out the door of the crippled shack and began a slow jog into the woods following a small track made by some deer , surprisingly this made me perk up and bit and slowly I increased my speed. I didn't even realize it but I was running incredibly fast. Faster than I'd ever ran before and it felt amazing, my stomach troubles were long gone in the wind as a dashed through the undergrowth.

I don't know long I'd been running for but I was starting to feel tired. Looking around I realized it was still dark, yet I could see everything crystal clear, thinking nothing of it I jogged back to the shack, greeted by the musty smell of rotting wood and mold.

I lay down on the floor once again but this time I felt good, I had no stomach ache and was ready to get some sleep.

Once again Sleep seemed to allude me for a while as I was still calming down from my run, but eventually I drifted off into a restless sleep.

******************

I woke up with a start. I was crouched in a small clearing of grass on all fours surrounded by the woods. The sun had just begun to rise casting an orange glow across the Forrest. Heavy fog was covering the clearing. The whole situation had a very eerie feel to it but not only that but my stomach ache had returned even more unbearable than the last, my skin itched all over a looked at my arm and noticed some orange and black hair poking from my arms... Could it be, could I finally be shifting for the first time?

My bones crunched and I let out a loud wail as I doubled over. I've seen this happen to so many others before.

Hair continued to consistently sprout from my arms I lifted my hand and looked at my palm expecting to see dark black paw pads forming but instead see sandy brown pads with large pointed claws.

I internally gulp. I'm still a freak... I'll never be normal I finally shift but I'm orange & black with sandy paws and sharp nails? I will never be like the others.

I could feel the final phase commencing. I unbuttoned my shirt and pants throwing them to the ground as destroying my only clothes is the last thing I'd want to do.

I arched my back while my spine began to twist. I could feel my bones moving around and morphing into a new form, my bones began to snap and reform, I let out a loud wail as my ribcage shattered, but it didn't hurt... it felt right, I have been waiting for this my entire life and it has finally begun.

I felt my heart rate begin to quicken, my stomach began to churn, I knew my organs we rearranging them self and enlarging to fit my new form I was to become.

I embraced the pain as I watched the bones in my arms snap and move around mending them self into a longer sleeker limb, built for running on all fours.

I watched my hands fully transform into large sandy colored paws with sharp nails protruding.

I clenched my teeth as I felt my spine grow, and a great force pierce for the bottom of my back, my tail. Beating at a steady pace against my legs.

I lost air, I couldn't breathe I looked down to see my chest begin to protrude outwards, I gasped for air desperately trying to lessen the stress but nothing worked.

I roared as the pain moved to my face cracking my face for a muzzle to begin to form, my screams turned to yowls as my vocal cords tore and reformed. My bones snapped into perfect position and I could tell my transformation was complete.

My vision and light headedness quickly cleared as I prepared to take my first run. I bounded away with a spring and ran and ran.

I don't remember what happened next but all I know is that woke up in the shack.

I immediately felt my stomach drop... It was just a dream I looked down at myself fully clothed and just how I went to sleep, I closed my eyes desperately trying to cling onto that dream, the one dream where I was happy, where I could be myself and the one place I was complete.
