(Joey's POV)

He doesn't love me back. I think as I unlock my apartment door and head inside. I mean, I already sort of knew that, but it's hard to accept that it's a fact now. Stupid me, I'm just so outgoing sometimes that I forget that what I say can really mess people up. Especially Shane. I wonder what I'll say tomorrow when I see him.

(Shane's POV)

I decide to get some rest. It's 10:00 pm now. I don't even bother to get into my pajamas. I just flop down on the bed in my old room with my wet clothes still on. I stare around the room. It's full of prop boxes and costumes from all the crazy videos I've made throughout the years. Is this what I'm going to be doing for the rest of my life?

The more I try to get comfortable on the bed, the more thoughts stir up in my head. And with those thoughts come the ones about Joey. How can he really love me? I don't even love me. "Shane Lee?" I hear a voice. It's my mom. I look over and see a ray of light streaming into my dark bedroom. I see the silhouette of her peeking in through the doorway.

"Yeah mom?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, didn't I?"

"Tell me what Shane?!" Mom comes over to my bed and sits down beside me.

"Li...Lisa..." I murmur.

"Shane, you can tell me. What happened to Lisa?"

"She dumped me." I confess numbly.

"Oh Shane. I'm sorry. Why'd she do it?"

"She found another guy. She hates me." I say sorrily. My mom gasps. Everything is coming back to me, I don't know how much longer I can talk about it.

"Oh Shane Lee....I'm sure she doesn't hate you. How could she hate you?" My mom lays down beside me and holds me like when I was little and had a bad dream. If only my mom knew why Lisa could hate me. At least I understand why. My eyes water up. "It'll get better Shane. You'll find someone else, I just know it." she whispers.

Then I realize, I already have found someone...Joey. And I know that he likes me too. Or at least I think so. One minute he's smirking at me, and another he's confessing his love for me. Love is so complicated. Maybe I should just stop doing it. My head hurts and my stomach is hollow. I don't feel good, but then again when was the last time I did? The next thing I know, everything goes black.

(Joey's POV)

I wake up to light glittering off my windows. I don't take more than a moment to hop out of bed. I dash around getting dressed and doing my hair. Shane is my first priority. I swing my car's door open and spring into Satsuki. Driving down the road I have time to think about what I should say to Shane after last night's little episode. Whatever, I'll just wing it.

I walk up to the door and knock solidly. Shane isn't the one to open the door, instead it's Shane's mom. She looks frantic and her hair is disheveled. "Hello, Teresa! Is Shane here?"

"Oh hello Joey! Yes, Shane is here, but I'm worried about him! He won't wake up!"

"Oh my gosh! Can I see him?" I ask.

"Um...okay Joey. I know you two are close." I feel myself blushing. "Follow me."

I follow Teresa to Shane's room. I wonder what could be wrong with Shane. Is he gonna die? No, he won't. He can't . Teresa opens the door and my eyes dart to Shane, laying in his bed. He's wearing the same clothes as yesterday. He looks lifeless, despite the visible breathing of his chest. "We've got to get him to the emergency room Teresa."

"I know, I'm glad you're here. I wouldn't be able to lift him by myself." says Teresa. She is shaking and seems like she is barley holding back tears. I toss off Shane's blankets and slip my arms under him, then lift. I carry him to my car outside. Teresa opens the door and I place Shane gently onto the backseat. I run to the front and start Satsuki. Meanwhile, Teresa sits in back with Shane. I see her stroking him hair affectionately. I feel a pang of jealousy, but then swallow it. It's her right to be with her son during something like this.

I drive down he roads disregarding the speed limits. This is an emergency. When we get to the hospital, I pick up Shane and bring him to the emergency room. I immediately race to the front desk, Teresa at my side. The lady at the counter looks up lazily. "How can I help you?"

"My son is passed out!" exclaims Teresa.

"Who are you and What's him name?" asks the lady. Her name tag says Joanie

"Shane Yaw, I'm his mother Teresa Yaw."

"Okay, and what exactly happened?"

"I went to wake up Shane, and-an-and-" stutters Teresa

"He wouldn't wake up." I finish for her.

"M'kay then...The doctor will be with you in a moment." says Joanie in a nasally voice. About 5 minutes later a team of nurses comes out of a set of double behind Joanie. They are dragging a rolling bed behind them. I put Shane on the bed and go to follow them. A man in scrubs stands between me and Shane.

"Sir, only family is allowed back there with the patient at the moment. I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave for a the time being."

"No! I need to be with Shane!" I yell. "Teresa tell them I can go!" Teresa doesn't answer at first. She looks anxious.

"Joey, you've done enough today. Maybe you should go home. I'll keep you updated." I don't want to give Shane's mom anymore grief so I agree not to argue with the doctor. Instead I sit down in one of the waiting room chairs and prepare to be here a while.
