I looked around my room and frowned. I'd been here for two months. Two. They'd used me as their puppet, tested on me, played me, and used me. I would leave this place soon, and I would never come back. I planned on destroying everything they had ever created.
I felt Zane's presence behind me and I sighed. "I will not miss this place."
"This is all we've ever known. Can you really imagine leaving?" he asked.
"Yes. This isn't all I have ever known. I used to be alive. Outside of here. Until they decided to capture me and freeze me with the rest," I looked over my room and sighed.
"We will avenge our kind. The ones that have died," Zane announced. We would.
"Leave," I whispered. He spun me around by waist so he could look at me in my eyes. Once again, my crest passed between our eyes, and I couldn't help but crack a sideways smile. "I'll meet up with you later, but for now leave," I repeated. "There's something that I have to do first." He frowned but left.
I walked over to the annoying steel table of mine. This is where it all began when I had woken up in here, and began to find out who I was. I began to remember who the enemy was. Sure, I had become damaged during my stay, but became stronger than before.
I sat down on the table and waited silently; closing my eyes and listening to the silence of the room. The beautiful silence. When was the last time I sat down and enjoyed life? When all this was over I deserved some peace and quiet.
The door slid opened and I peeled my eyes open. Doctor Jackal walked inside. Alright. Let's do this.
"It's been awhile since you were in your own room," he smirked.
"Oh you know, I've been a little busy," I joked.
Doc rolled his eyes, "Oh I couldn't imagine what with."
"You know, saving the earth from a bunch of assholes like you." His anger quickly snapped on. I yanked the knife from in my pocket, glided across the room, and pressed it up to his throat. The pressure was just enough that a small trickle of blood dripped, though not enough to kill or seriously injure him. "How could you do this to us, to me?" I asked.
"The world is so much different from what you think you remember. Good does not exist anymore," his adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed nervously.
"Where there is bad there is always good," I argued. "There has to be. Giving Earth to Aidan hardly seems like a reasonable answer to all of this."
"You will see what's out there and change your mind." A slither of doubt danced within me but I pushed it to the back of my mind.
"It's too late to change your mind on the mistakes you've made."
"Do what you have to," he rose his head proudly.
I dug the blade into his neck and sliced. Blood spewed from the wound and I stepped back to keep my new shoes from getting destroyed. He dropped and his dark red blood stained the perfect white floors.
"This is the side you've chosen," I told his fallen body. "The rest of The Master's followers will soon be joining you."
I tossed my knife into his pool of blood and casually walked out of the room.
