Zane and I didn't become close friends over the royal and Keeper bonding experience, and we never would. We were too different. But, we'd grown to respect one another and get along. We'd spent the past two days sending me into the past, to try to discover more answers. We learned who my family members were, most of which were no longer alive; consequently for trying to protect me. We also so what had become of the outside world. It'd been a good while since I'd been out there. Though when I was, it was atrocious. The president was power hungry, and he was trying to create the government to be some kind of mutant breed he'd created to be a more advanced version of Elementals. The whole word was going to be abolished if they harnessed the Elemental power or....me.

Zane let go of my head as the memory faded out of view. The golden light of the sun pierced my eyes through the glass of the indoor park. Zane had his large arms placed on his knees, his eyes weary and breathing hard.

"I think that's enough for today. I forget how much energy you use to look back." He didn't respond but he nodded his head. We've got to get out here. I needed to get The Master's attention. So much would be understood if I could just share a few words with the man. Apparently, he was only impressed with my rebellion skills. Mission: We've got to do something crazy. As if noticing my idea of a dark plan, Jacob strode over to Zane and I. A glint of amusement sparkled in his eye.

"I know that look when I see it Bree, what're you coming up with?"

"I need to cause chaos-" I didn't even get to explain before he butt in, saying he'd be willing to do anything that involved us getting into trouble.

He immediately started coming up with suggestions, "We could run down the hallways destroying things, torture a doctor, go to the training room and just let our powers loose, try to find where they're keeping other frozen Elementals here, blow off the ceiling...." Question: does he just think of all these things in his sleep?

"Other frozen Elementals?" Trish asked as she walked towards us, "There's more here?" Well now that I think about it, of course there would be. I was surprised I hadn't thought to go looking for the others. Trish folded her arms, "Whatever you guys are planning-" I prepared myself for a come-back to her insult "-I'm down." What? The snooty hot-headed girl just agreed to help? Wow, maybe Zane needs a bit of what they'd been testing her with.

"Are you sure you're not drunk, Trish?" a beautiful sing-song soothing voice asked. Rider. She flicked him off as he walked towards us, in normal Trish fashion. Jimmy got up and came to us, obviously wanting in on the action. Wow, all of us? I don't think we need that many.

"So...do we just go now?" Jimmy asked. We all sat in silence. Now was the only time the doctor's guards were down.

"I don't know you guys..." Lily started.

I rolled my eyes, "We go now. Mind opening the doors anyone?"

Zane casually walked over to the sliding doors and gripped the sides. His bulky muscles strained as he parted the doors apart. He knuckles turned white from the pressure as he ripped the doors of their hinges. I was impressed to say the least.

As we stepped out into the hallways, Lily waved her hand outward and vines with giant green leaves spread off towards the right.

"That way," she instructed. I didn't care to hear more. My feet hit the cold tiled floor and took off. I skidded down the hallway as it made a sharp turn. I stopped abruptly as I ran into a hard figure. Ow. Who was this? Get out of the way. I looked up to see, not a doctor, but security. Actually, four of them. All with guns. Is this where the Elementals are? My people that they hold prisoner. I felt my power inching at my fingertips. I flushed all my power towards the man. He flung down the hallway with such a force you'd think he'd got hit by a truck. The other men were now aware of the threat and quickly moved to hold up their guns. There was a flash of red as one of the men fired. A small round ball erupted from inside the weapon and hurdled towards Rider. Speed seemed to catch up with me as I ran in front of Rider to protect him. The damage never came.

I peeled my eyes open to see a light purple sphere around us. The bullet dropped off the side, like it was barely able to hurt a fly. I looked back at Jimmy wide eyed. His power was...force fields? He nodded to me like it was nothing. Though it did mean something. He'd saved my life. I didn't have time to thank him as Rider looked at me wide eyed and started yelling at me, explaining that I could've died. I rolled my eyes.

I turned my attention back to the other soldiers guarding the door. I prepared for another gun when the second security man lit on fire. He began to scream as his skin peeled. Trish. Gotta love her power. A black machine gun materialized in Jacob's hand and began to fire. The left over men dropped like flies. The force-field dissipated and we all stood breathing hard. That was...different.

I looked over at the door they were blocking. It had a fingerprint scanner outside. Now, how are we going to get in? Trish smirked and walked over to the scanner. She lit a fireball on her index finger and placed it against the scanner. There was a sizzling sound before an electric sound and the door popped open. I sucked in my breath as my power surged all around me. There weren't many in there. No. But there were two teens and a...an eight year old. Seeing a child, frozen, with tubes running from her brain and her fingertips, was a horrifying sight. What human doctor was okay with looking at this everyday?

"Well, well, Bree; I'm impressed. I really am," someone said behind me. Excuse me? I turned around to see Zachariah examining the dead body of one of his guards. Rider balled up his fists and he almost charged. I placed my hand on his chest to stop him. Heat immediately built up in my fingertips. I ignored the sensation and looked at Zach. "If I didn't know any better I'd think you were trying please me darling." I clenched my jaw.

"Zachariah, just tell me what I want to hear," I hissed.

"The Master will see you tonight at ten sharp. You will be dressed nice when you are in his company. Dresses will be set out for you to pick from."

"Over my dead body," Rider barked. "You don't have to do it, whoever this Master is," he whispered to me. Yes, I did. I needed to speak with this man. For my own understanding, and theirs, I needed to speak with this man.

I could almost seeing Jacob smirking in the back of my mind. I'm sure he was proud of my deceitfulness.

I nodded at Zachariah, "I look....forward to meeting him."
