"We need to get out of here. I want out within ten days," I instructed. The group just stared at me blankly. I knew it was quickly to act. I just didn't trust whatever was planned for us if we stayed much longer than we already had.
Lily shook her head, "If there was a way out we would've found it already." I rolled my eyes. I didn't want to be told what couldn't be done. I needed to know what we had to do to make this happen.
"We also haven't tried to escape all together," Jimmy pointed out. Exactly. I crossed my legs in front of me and sat on the floor in the gym.
"We each need to search ways to get out. If we have to use our powers to leave, then so be it," I announced. The doors opened to the gym and we all jumped. Attack? No. Trish walked into the room, her read hair swaying behind her.
"You guys are having a meeting and didn't invite me?" her tone was mocking. "I'm so offended." She leaned against the wall and began to twirl little sparks of flame around her fingertips. Show off.
"Well we can't go down the hallways," Zane brought the attention back to the matter at hand. "They're having men walk around with guns. And with Bree shot, obviously running into places with guns is a bad idea." He shot me a frustrated look and I rolled my eyes. Ever since I got shot he won't let me hear the end of it. He precedes to tell me how much of an idiot I am. Almost back to the same annoyingly frustrating Zane he used to be.At the same time, he felt bad that he was my Keeper and he wasn't awake to help me.
"Yeah," Trish smirked, "Good going Bree. That was your best idea by far." I didn't even bother to argue. She wasn't worth the breath.
"Although the doctors don't check in here often," Lily started, "There's not really a way out."
I sighed and ran my hands through my hair. Sensing my discomfort, Rider smiled, "Hey it's okay. We'll find a way out." I couldn't help but crack a smile. He always seemed to make everything okay. "Just keep searching. I'm sure we'll find a way out." We'd better. We each started to move away, going back to our normal routines. Question: what about other Elementals? We will need to team up with them once we leave. How will I find them. Answer: Actually speaking of other Elementals...
"I have a request." I stated. The group turned to look at me.
Trish rolled her eyes, "This has got to be good."
"Shut up," Rider snapped at her. She seemed surprised he'd defended me, but didn't say anything. For once.
"Before we escape we need to rescue those three other Elementals we saw still frozen. One of us needs to go get them while the others cause a distraction. I will not leave without them," I said. No one had any objections. We needed to help as many as we can. It's not okay they keep us locked up here, forced to fight for the government, forced to help The Master take over, and destroy the world.
"I will go get the kids when the time comes," Rider agreed. I gave him a thankful smile.
"Are you even okay enough to escape any time soon?" Lily asked concerned. She was staring at the wrap around my waist and I grimaced. It was true. It hurt like nothing I'd ever felt before. This wasn't about me though. I would just have to deal with it and find a way to heal.
"I'm fine," I gasped. Her green eyes seemed to see right through my lie. Oh well. There's nothing she could do about it. Changing the subject; I lectured, "Just remember if you guys don't come up with a way out, I'm letting all my powers loose. I've never done that before. I assume it'll be mass destruction." I smirked.
Zane nodded, "We got it. Ten days. Then we're breaking out of here."
