Mackenzie's POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. I don't really want to get up, or go to school for that matter. But I know if I don't then my mom will yell at me. She probably has a hangover from the night before.
I reluctantly start to wake up, and get dressed. I really didn't want to try anyway so I just threw on whatever. I put on a gray sweatshirt, black skinny jeans, a gray beanie, and white converse. (A.N/ see picture above.) I quickly put on some light makeup, and grab my bag and go downstairs. I get a pop tart and start eating it. The bus beeps and I quickly sprint out the door to go to school.

As we come to the school I have a terrible feeling about today. I am not in the mood to go to school but I have to. I slowly walk up to my locker and put my things in it when I hear my name.
"Mackenzie, hey Mackenzie" said my friend, Destiny as she was walking quickly over to me. She had a worried expression on her face that made me concerned.
"Hey what's up? Why do you look so worried? I asked.
"The principal wants you in the office." She said looking even more worried then before.
I haven't been in the principal office since I was in 1st grade, when I accidentally cut off a piece of a girls hair. To be honest it was actually really funny.
"Oh did he say why?" I asked.
"No he just said to bring you down." I wondered what I possibly have done to go to the principals office. I think back to what I have done all this week, which was nothing.
"Huh I guess we'll see then." I chuckled and turned to her, she was standing there as stiff as a board.
"How can you act so cool about this, you could be in serious trouble." Destiny said. Destiny was always a goody-goody, which is probably the reason why I never got into any trouble in a long time. She keeps me in line, which is one of the many things I love about her.
Deep down inside I was a little nervous. My palms were sweating, and I was shaking a little. I tried to keep it together as much as possible. As we got down there the principal had been waiting. I looked at him, I couldn't tell what kind of expression he had on, but that just scared me even more.
The principal pulled me into his office and smiled. I don't know if that is a good sign or not, because my principal was always smiling.
"Hi Ms. Hill. There is a new student that is joining our school, and I was wondering if you would like to show him around." I just sat there, I am not good with guys, especially when I talk to them.
"Uh, yeah sure I would love to." I said trying to sound enthusiastic.
"Great, I will bring him in." He smiled and turned around quickly to get the new student.
I look down at my appearance and I start to regret putting this outfit on. I look like a mugger.
I heard the door creak open and, they came in. I looked up and saw a brown haired, blue eyed boy staring at me. He mumbled something under his breath, that I couldn't make out.
"Hi, I'm Brandon, nice to meet you." He said looking very nervous to approach me.
"Hi, I'm Mackenzie." That's all I could say, because it was very uncomfortable with him staring at me.
"So Ms. Hill can you show him around, and take him to his classes. You will be his mentor for the day. Is that okay?" The principal asked.
"Yeah that's fine." I said. Deep down inside I wanted to scream out that I didn't want to be his mentor. I had anxiety just thinking about it. But I had to whether I wanted to do it or not.
