Mackenzie's POV

Ugh another day of stupid school. Why can't I just drop out??? It's so frustrating when you are trying to "learn" and everybody is staring at you.

I am in 9th period, the last period of the day (thank god) and I am counting down the minutes until the bell rings so I can get out of this hell hole. You would think that I would be happy since it's Friday, but no.

Today has just been flat out weird. In lunch I kept getting these weird messages from this unknown person again, and it's really starting to freak me out. I think that Destiny is noticing because she asked me if I was ok today, and looked worried. Does she know something that I don't? That would be weird because she always tells me everything. Huh...

The final bell rings, and everyone jumps up basically running out the door. I sigh and quickly walk out the door.

When I get to my locker Brandon and Destiny are already waiting for me. I smile at them and open my locker. "So what do you want to do tonight bestie?" I laugh at Destiny's choice of words, and turn to look at her.

"Well I was kind of thinking that I should get a job." I closed my locker and started to walk, with Destiny and Brandon walking briskly next to me.

"Wait what? How long have you been thinking about this?" Destiny asked, as shock filled her voice.

"For a little while now. I have realized that I can't live with you forever, and I feel bad because I think I'm intruding on your family. I guess I just don't want to be a burden." I looked down at my feet in embarrassment.

"Kenzie you know that you are always welcome at my house. My family loves you, you're apart of our family." She chuckles as we walk outside, walking to Brandon's house. All of us have gone there after school to do homework, and hang out. (But mostly the hanging out part).

"I know, I just want to do some things on my own." Destiny and I have always been on the same page about everything, we have always just knew what the other person was thinking. She wants the best for me, and always feels the need to help me. But there's some things that I want to do in my own, and this is one of them.

"Hey I know the people that own the little coffee shop around the corner from your house, if you want to apply there. They're really nice people, and I think they would love to have you work there." Brandon whispered in my ear. I turned and smiled at him.

"Yeah sure." I whispered back giggling. Oh my god I really need to stop doing that, it's really embarrassing.

"We can go tomorrow if you like?" His breath tickled my ear as he spoke.

"Yeah, that would be great."

-

"Whatcha doing?" Brandon slung his arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer to him. I looked up from the crisp white paper, and looked up at his goofy smile.

"I'm trying to fill out my application." I giggled as he kissed my cheek, and walked off to look at all the pastries that they had.

I have finally decided to apply to the cute little coffee shop that is around the corner from my house. The old lady that runs the shop is really nice. She actually knows Brandon for some odd reason. She told me that there wasn't many people working here and that she needed some help.
