Mackenzie's POV
I woke up with the sun blinding me, and Brandon's arm around me. I sit up a little, just enough to see his face. He looks so cute when he's sleeping. I poked his face gently to try and wake him up.
"Brandon." I whispered into his ear.
He moved a little, but his eyes were still closed. I huffed, prying his arm off of my waist. I looked at the clock on his bedside table and it said 6:30. I got up out of his bed, and tried to look for my stuff for school.
I sighed in defeat, shaking Brandon so he could wake up and go to school. "Hey Brandon!" I yelled, he sat up quickly looking around the room. Once he noticed it was me he relaxed.
"Don't scare me like that. What do you need?" He asked while rubbing his eyes, and yawning.
"Where is all of my school stuff?" I asked.
"Oh we have to go back to your house for them." He said, pulling the covers off of him, and sits up on the side of his bed. He got up and started walking towards the door, and I followed him.
"Oh that's okay." I said, walking down the stairs behind him.
He got his car keys and led me out the door. The car ride was pretty silent, he just kept asking simple questions like 'are you okay', 'how are you feeling', and 'how did you sleep'.
As we pull in to my driveway I see my dad's car still there. My mom goes to work early, but I guess my dad didn't leave. I start to get nervous as I see his car. Brandon notices and puts his hand on my thigh. I blush at his kind actions, and turn to him.
"Hey don't be nervous. I'll come in with you to make sure everything is okay." He said reassuringly.
I took a deep breath, and slowly got out of the car. We walked up to the front door, hand in hand. I opened the door, and the house was quiet. I quickly ran upstairs and got my school stuff. I quickly change into jeans, and a sweatshirt that says 'Whatever' on it. I walk downstairs slowly, just in case my dad hears me. Thank god that I didn't run into my father, that would have been a disaster.
We walked back to the car, and got in. The whole drive to school I was thinking about my dad's car at my house. How come he wasn't in the house? He would've wanted to 'talk' to me not doubt. Once I realized that Brandon was talking to me, I looked over at him.
"Mackenzie?" He said looking at me with concern.
"What?" I asked confused.
"I said what do you think?"
"What do I think about what?" He sighed then looked back at the road.
"We're you even listening to me?" He asked chuckling.
"No I'm sorry. I've just had a lot on my mind." I said giggling.
"That's okay, I just asked you if you wanted to stay at my house for a couple of days. I know that you're really stressed out from all the things that have been happening this week." He said.
I knew that he was right, but what will my mom say if she finds out that I'm with him? Well she doesn't usually care about me anyway, so why should I care?
"Okay." I said looking at him, and smiling.

When we got to school I instantly started shaking because I knew that everyone would know about my dad being back. My dad was a familiar face in town, and everybody knew him. He was like the nice, perfect dad that you see in movies now a days. But when him and my mom got their divorce everybody knew. That when everything started to happen. My mom's drinking, her abusing me, and people that I became friends with left me.
When we walked into the school everybody turned and looked at me. I heard people whispering my name. I just put my head down and kept walking. But when I was in the middle of the hallway I heard people call me names.
I was used to this by now, but I really never got this much attention from it. But I knew the person who started it. Hope. She was always the root of my pain, and the worst part was she knew she was doing it too.
It's like all of those years when I was her friend, and we laughed, and had fun together, she was planning to do this to me.
I felt a hand intertwine with mine, and I looked over and saw Brandon. He looked angry as all the people stared, laughed, and made fun of me. But he just held my hand tightly between his, and it felt like he never wanted to let go.
