Chapter 7

Mackenzie's POV

The next morning I wake up and slowly get out of bed. I get dressed and walk out to the bus. I just lean my head on the window and wait for my torture to begin.

As I get to school I see Destiny, I want to tell her everything that happened last night but I decide to wait until lunch.

When she walks over to me her face is full of sadness. I want to ask her what happened, and why she looked so sad. But before I could ask her Hope and her little group came over.

Hope was the biggest bitch in school, she also slept with every guy in our school that was a jock. She was mean to everybody and didn't care about their feelings. Her two best friends follow her around school like she is a queen. Ashley was the dumb one of the group and was very clueless to a lot of things. Megan was a hotheaded bitch who loved to wear the shortest skirts ever, was so caught up with boys. There was even a rumor going around school saying that she slept with almost every guy in school.

They were also named the "hottest" girls in school. Maybe it's because they were popular, or maybe because they were cheerleaders. I don't really know why, it's still a mystery to me.

"Hey Mackenzie!" She just fake smiled at me like she always does. Me and her used to be best friends but she got more popular and I guess our friendship just faded away.

"Hey Hope, how are you?" Trying to sound as nice as possible.

"Didn't you hear about what's been going around social media?"I didn't really care to know what she was talking about, but my curiosity got the best of me.

"No what?" She started to pull out her phone, but suddenly looked up at me.

"Are you sure you want to know?" My heart was racing and my palms were sweating. Maybe I wasn't ready for what she was about to tell me.

"Yeah I'm sure."

She took out her phone and went into Instagram. Then she showed me a post that someone made. It was a picture of me and Brandon at my front door hugging. The caption said "why is a hot guy like him hanging out with an ugly girl like her???"

The first thought that ran through my mind is what if Brandon saw this and was too embarrassed to talk to me.

I just walked away without saying anything. Destiny called out to me but I just kept on walking. I could hear Hope and her little friends snicker as I walked away. Today was going to be a disaster!

It was lunch time and I was not looking forward to it. I was trying to avoid Brandon all day, it was kind of hard because he had a lot of classes with me.

In the halls as I walked by people, they were all staring and some were laughing at me. I knew that Brandon would know about it because it's all over social media.

When I saw Brandon walking towards me I froze, I didn't know what to do. He sat down beside me, as soon as he did everyone was looking our way.

"Hey can I talk to you?" Oh god here it comes, he is going to say something along the lines of "I don't want to be friends with you anymore because of that post." The story of my life right.

"Yeah sure what's up?" He took me over to the corner of the lunch room.

"Well it's about the picture on Instagram." He said and I started to panic inside, and my heart was beating a mile a minute.

I nodded to let him know that he can continue.

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that they said those horrible things about you online. I really had nothing to do about it. I am still going to be your friend, and I always will be." He stared into my eyes taking in my expression, he was looking for any signs of sadness in my eyes.

"No it's okay, you don't have to apologize I know it's not your fault." He let out a sigh if relief.

Then he took my hand and walked me back over to our table. I had to hide my face so he couldn't see that I was blushing.

As I looked over at Hope's table, they were staring at me and Brandon in shock. Hope looked angry as she saw our hands together. It was probably her plan to screw up my friendship with Brandon so she can have him. But her little plan didn't work. It was obvious that she liked him, but he would never like her. I don't think....
