Devronica

3 days later

I pulled up to the spot August told me to meet them at. Today's the big day. I get to meet his sister and maybe his mom. Aaliyah is coming with us and I'll just meet Sheila at his house later on tonight. I was nervous about meeting his sister because, August told me that she has never liked any of his girlfriends.

I'm nothing like his past girlfriends, but I'm still a little nervous.

I spotted them sitting on a bench outside of the building. He spotted me around the same time and we made our way toward each other.

He pulled me into a tight embrace and kissed me deeply. I missed him this past week. I don't know why I hate being away from him. "I missed you baby boy," I said, in between kisses.

"I missed you mo."

"Um, excuse me? Are y'all gonna do this all day cause I can go home," Aaliyah said, interrupting us.

I chuckled. "I'm sorry. I'm Devronica but you can call me Roni. Aug has told me so much about you."

"Hey, I'm Aaliyah. August had told me a good bit about you too. You're so pretty," she said, smiling.

She didn't really resemble August. He did tell me that they didn't have the same dad, and her dad raised them both.

"You barley kno ha' and she can call ya Aaliyah. You don't lemme call you dat," August said, grabbing my hand.

"That's cause I don't like you."

I shook my head and laughed. They had a cute brother&sister relationship. "Did you guys eat yet?" I asked, hungry as hell. I always forget to eat in the morning, and I was in the mood for iHop.

"Yo greedy ass," August said.

"Let's go ta Starbucks. I've never been there and I wanna try their coffee," Aaliyah said.

"Alrighty. You cool with that, Aug?"

"Whateva y'all want. I'm treatin' y'all today," he said, hugging us.

He's so generous. That's one of the many things I like so much about him. To be honest, I didn't think he was boyfriend material the day we met. Obviously my thoughts have changed.

We walked to his car and hopped in. I was leaving my car over here for the day. "What do you like to do Aaliyah?"

"Well, I like ta play basketball. August taught me how ta do a lil sum. I play for my school."

"Yeah, she number 7. I taught ha' everything she kno'.

"Aug, quit lyin'. I learned most of the stuff on my own."

"I guess. By the way, I'm proud of ya, lil nigga."

I smiled at their relationship. I'm an only child and I've always wanted a sibling. Sometimes I can get lonely. "Y'all are sibling goals," I said.

"When school starts back up, you have ta come ta my games."

"You gotta come ta mine too bae," August said.

"I'll go to both of ya'll's games."

We made conversation until we arrived at Starbucks. We decided to eat inside. August ordered our stuff and we grabbed a seat.

"How did you guys meet?" Aaliyah asked.

"We met on the plane and instantly hit it off. I thought he was so cute and I fell in love with his voice. I don't judge people based off of appearance but, I didn't think he was boyfriend material. I was so wrong."
