I pulled up my pants before taking a quick glance in the mirror. I didn't feel like dressing up today so I went for a casual look.

Today, August, Asia, and I would be grocery shopping together. I didn't wanna go but, he insisted. Asia gon make me pop her ass if she come at me sideways one more time. I tried to be nice to her but if she can be childish, so can I.

I headed out of my room and crutched down the stairs. Kayden and Simone were sitting on the couch, playing with Amira. I was going to take her with us but she wanted to stay since August's daughters would be coming back today.

I'm really impressed with August. Over these few years, he's managed to become very successful. I always knew he was gonna be successful but, I didn't think it would be this fast. I admire him for helping me when I needed him considering the fact that I tried to kill him a few years back.

August came down the stairs with Asia in his tracks. She looked pissed off and I knew exactly why. "Good morning you guys," I said.

"Good morning," August said.

Asia just looked at me and rolled her eyes. August glared at her before heading out the door. "Morning," she said before following behind him.

"Bye kids, we'll be back in a few hours. Y'all keep a close eye on Amira," I said, kissing all of them on the forehead.

"Mama, be extra petty," Kayden laughed.

Shaking my head, I made my way out the door. I got into the backseat of the car and pulled out my headphones. I didn't feel like participating in any conversation they started. Before I could plug them in, August took them out of my hand.

"So, the game plan is, we go ta the grocery store and pick up a few things. Then, we gotta go pick up Alexis from Desire's house," he said.

I've never seen his other daughter before. I'm pretty sure she's beautiful considering how good-looking her parents are. "Are Desire and Aaliyah still friends?" I asked.

"Nah, they stopped being friends when Jala found out that Desire was messin' around with Micah behind her back."

"Damn, that nigga something else. I don't know what happened to him."

"Ion know what happened ta her. She use ta be so innocent. Somethin' must've hit a nerve," he laughed.

I remained silent. I didn't wanna spark up a full blown conversation over the person who broke us up.

Asia glanced between us before going back to playing on her phone. "August, you can just drop me off at Tavi's. I don't wanna go grocery shopping."

"Nah, you good. You always go shoppin' with me, what's changed?"

She looked at me before rolling her eyes. If she keep rolling them bitches, they gon get stuck. "A lot has changed. Now can you drop me off?!" she semi-yelled.

"Asia, the only way you gon get out this car, is if you roll out this bitch," he said, causing me to laugh.

She quickly looked at me. "What's funny?"

"You gon roll out?" I asked, still laughing.
