Desire in MM

Desire
I tied my hair in a ponytail as I continued to do my school work. These are one of those days were I get depressed because I have to do online school and not go to public.

I miss hanging with my best friend, and seeing all of my friends together.

I quickly wiped away my tears once I heard Jelani's voice. "Desire, mom said that it's time to go."

I looked at her with confusion. "Go where? I have work to do."

"To see dad, duh. I haven't seen him since I moved to Toronto so hurry up."

I rolled my eyes before getting up. "Nobody told you to move. I have nothing for that man anyway. He's not my father...he's yours so why should I go see him?"

She made her way over to me and sat down on my bed. "Don't be like that. He raised you like your were his own."

This angered me because she didn't know what all that man had put me through. She didn't know why I had so much hate towards him, and she also didn't know he was the reason I had a horrible relationship with our mother.

"Tell Paige that I'm not going," I said, referring to our mother.

She raised her hands up, and walked out. Once she was gone, I sat back on my bed and tried my best to refrain from crying. I let my thoughts take over me.

I stepped into the house from a good day at school. My mom, Mariah, and Jelani were out for the the evening and wouldn't be back until later that night.

I walked into the kitchen to find Andrew sitting at the eating table which was filled with empty liquor bottles. "Dad, are you alright?" I asked.

He looked at me with hazy eyes. "I'm fine sweetheart," he said, getting up and walking over to me.

He picked me up and placed me on the counter. "You know daddy loves you, Desire," he said, a mixture of alcohol on his breath.

"I love you too," I said, unaware of the events that were about to take place.

He kissed my forehead, my nose, and finally...my lips.

I tensed up at the touch of his lips. "I-I'm gonna go to bed," I said, trying to get away from him.

He grabbed me, making his grip extremely tight. My eyes widened with fear as a different look to place in his eyes.

I watched in horror as his hands slipped up my dress. I tried my hardest to get away from him but it wasn't working. I screamed but he quickly but his hand over my mouth.

He lifted my dress up and ripped my underwear off. He then pinned me down on the counter.

He took his pants off, and had his way with me.

I cried as the memory played over and over in my head. I cried even harder once I remembered how my mother didn't believe me when I told her. This happened almost 3 years ago, when I was 14 years old.

I picked up my phone and dialed August's number. I needed him right now. "Yeah?"

"August, can you please come over?" I asked, my voice cracking on every word.

"I'm on my way," he said, ending the call.

August

I walked up the stairs ta Desire's room. She sounded upset on the phone so I knew it had ta be urgent.

I knocked on the door ta ha room and she answered almost immediately. Ha beauty radiated through-out the room even though she was upset. "Hi," she said, lettin' me in.

"Hey ma," I said, kissin' her forehead. "You ight?"

She shook ha head, breakin' down into tears. I pulled her into a hug and kissed ha repeatedly on ha face. I had ta be careful since I was back in a relationship with Roni.

"She wanted me to go see him," she said.

I instantly knew what she was talkin' about. I thought it was so fucked up how ha own momma didn't believe ha when she said that nigga had raped her.

I held her as she cried. "Baybeh, calm down. Everything's gonna be alright. I'm not gon let anyone hurt you or our daughter," I said as I rubbed ha belly.

"Please don't leave me," she said.

"I won't."

I meant that with everything in me.

This was kind of sad to write.

Now to answer a few questions...

Desire is 16 and four months pregnant.
She'll be 17 this year.

It's February 17, 2016 in the book.

August is definitely torn between what and who he wants.

Only time will tell.
