I woke up to see my mom and dad in the hospital  room. They were both fast asleep which made me wonder how long I had been here. The last thing I remember was feeling a sharp pain and then falling on top of August. My eyes widened as the thought of him getting shot crossed my mind.

I tried to sit up but instantly fell back down. My back was killing me. I then touch my stomach and began to cry. What if something happened to my baby? I would be sure to murder whoever shot me then. "Mom," I said, causing her to wake up.

She rushed over to me and kissed my forehead. "Hey baby girl. I'm so glad you're up."

"Me too."

The small smile on her face disappeared the more she stared at me. Tears started to fall from her eyes.

"What's wrong mom?"

"I thought you died."

I looked away from her. I hated seeing my mom cry.

"Devronica, why didn't you tell your father and I about this? You and this kids could've came to live with us. We had no idea that this was going on. But I should've known better since you barely visited us. You were scared."

She was right. I was scared. Jose told me I could never go visit my parents alone cause he feared that I wouldn't come back. "I'm sorry mommy. I'm not going back to him anymore. August and I are back together."

She smiled through her tears. "He's okay and so is my grandbaby," she said before rubbing my tummy.

I thanked god. My happy family wasn't destroyed. I still had the chance to have one. "Where is he? I have to see him. Also, where are the kids?"

"Well, you'll probably see him in a few hours since it is 5 o'clock in the morning. As for the kids, they're with August's sister. Your sister came by earlier but you were asleep."

I nodded and reached on the side table for my phone.

"I'm about to wake your father up. We have some good news," mom said, going over to daddy and tapping him. As they talked, she pointed over to me. He looked over and a big smile spread across his face. Quickly getting up, he kissed me all over my face. "My baby girl."
