Aaliyah in MM

I woke up with Devronica still on my chest. I glanced at the clock beside me and it read 2:34 am. She cried herself ta sleep. I looked at ha and she had dried tears down ha cheeks.

I tried ta get up which caused ha ta wake up. I remained silent as she looked around the room. "What happened?" she asked in a sleepy voice.

"Uh, we fell asleep."

"Where did Jasmine and Zay go?"

"I guess they went home," I said caressin' ha cheek. "Are you mad at me?" I asked, hopin' she would say no.

She was silent fa a while and then she shrugged. I could tell dat she was still mad, she jus didn't wanna admit it. "I understand if you mad. I would be too. I jus don't want you ta leave me because I love you. You probably don't wanna hear none of this but, I need you too."

"What time is it?" she asked.

I sighed. "It's almost 3:00."

She nodded and got up.

"Where you goin?"

"I'm gonna go sleep with Aaliyah."

I would've said somethin' but, I understood dat she was hurt. I was gon give her some time ta think. I nodded and turned ova in my bed.

I stepped into Aaliyah's room to see her still awake playing on her phone. She glanced over at me and smiled. "Hey honey," she said, getting up.

"Hi, it's late and I don't have my car so...can I sleep with you?"

"Sure, I have some clothes in my drawer that you could wear," she said, handing me a t-shirt and some sweats.

I slipped them on and got into bed. "Do you know where Jasmine and Zay are?"

"Yeah, they're sleeping in the guest room."

I remained silent as I felt my eyes sting. Aaliyah looked at me and pulled me into her. "Don't cry. I know August messed up but, he really does love you. I can tell by the way he looks at you," she said.

"How did you feel when you found out what Micah did. I know your situation was way worse but, this still hurts."

She sighed. "Well, I cried for a good two weeks straight. We were only together for so little time but, I thought he was in love with me cause, I was in love with him. I was devastated, and I thought it was all my fault. Really and truly, he was just a trifling nigga," she slightly chuckled.

"How do you deal with seeing him at school?"

"I wanna cry every time I see him but, I have to be strong for myself. Now, I have a guy in my life who really cares about me. So, I try to forget about him. How was it when y'all were together?"

"Well, we were together for almost two years. I loved Micah so much. One day, he got a call that his mom was involved in a car accident. He was sad at first but, after a while, he became angry. He took all his anger out on me so, I just left him alone. I tried to be there for him but he didn't want me to," I explained

She nodded and hugged me tighter.

I could tell she was still hurt by her situation and I understood why. What happened to her was way worse than what August did. I had no reason to be crying like I am right now.

I let Micah caress my cheek as I laid my head in his lap. I go to him when I need comfort. As much as I hated doing this to Aaliyah, I loved being with Micah. I purposely broke them up cause I was gonna be with him but, I changed my mind.

Those pictures she received were of me and him together. I made sure not to show my face so our friendship wouldn't be jeopardized.

"Babe, you okay?" he asked, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just needed to see you."

"Oh. You only lay your head in my lap when you're upset," he said, turning me so I could face him.

"I love you," I said.

"I love you more," he said

Micah and I have been seeing each other before August and I had our little fling. We calmed down a little when him and Aaliyah got together but now, he's free to do whatever. "It's late, I should get going. My mom has to pick Jelani up from the airport and I wanna go with her."

"Ight, I'll see you at school," he said, rubbing his thumb against mine.

I kissed his lips and then jogged to my car.

We sat down in the chairs and waited for Jelani to come. She decided to stay down here for a couple of weeks. "So, did you have fun with August?" Mariah asked.

"I wasn't with August. August doesn't wanna be with me," I said.

"Desire, he has a girlfriend. How would you feel if you were in her shoes?" Mom asked.

My mom was sort of right. I shouldn't have kissed August but, I couldn't help myself. "I guess I would be upset."

"That's exactly what I thought," Mom said.

"Mom, you remember that girl with the big butt and curly hair?" Mariah asked.

"Devronica Rayne?"

Mariah nodded and Mom gasped. "Desire Angelina Ricardo, that girl will beat your behind," Mom said.

"Oh my gosh, can y'all stop saying that," I said, frustrated.

They both shrugged and turned their attention to their phones.

A few minutes later, Jelani came rushing towards us. We all stood up and pulled her into a group hug.

"I missed y'all so much," she said.

I raised a brow at her and rolled my eyes. Jelani isn't as sweet as she portrays to be. She's always putting a front on for people but, I see through all of that.
