Hundreds of miles away, there was a small house with a wooden bench in front.
An elderly lady dressed in a white robe sat next to a man wearing a black designer suit. While she looked like a ghost come back to life, he seemed like a businessman come to seal a very important deal.
It was a very odd sight to see these two next to each other, more so have them talk like they were old friends yet it was what they were doing just then.
"It's already set in motion, Oracle," the man said, tucking away the golden lock that escaped the ponytail sitting low on the back of his head. "I've sent for the girl and she will arrive in a few days."
"The wildling doesn't suspect, does he?" the woman asked, not moving her pale blue, almost white eyes from the man's face.
He knew she couldn't really see him. She was blind to the world of forms and colors. But she watched. Always. And she knew things beyond others' reach.
"No. He has no idea that you are the one orchestrating this and, for that matter, neither does Regan."
"That's good, Magistrate. And no one should find out until it's time." She smiled an eery smile. "And now, we wait."
"Of course." The man sitting next to her returned that smile.
"Besides, you have to take care of things on your end. There is someone important you're going to meet, someone vital for our cause, Magistrate, so don't do anything rash, you hear me?"
"Yes."
"The person who turns your world upside down will be the one to save you and your city. Remember this," the woman added, her face turning blank.
"Again with the cryptic prophecies, Oracle?"
"Ain't life always like that, Michael? Things that can save us a lot of heartbreak can never be said or done."
