Miranda's pov

The stagehand takes us to a room backstage and Jason was fixing his mic on his shirt and looking in a mirror. His eyes met mine and he turned around. CJ was barely able to contain his excitement. Meeting his idol twice in one day. "Hey." Jason says. I smile and wave. "Sissy down!" CJ shouts. I roll my eyes and set him down. He instantly runs to Jason who smiles and picks him up. "Mike had this idea. You know how the reporters caught pictures of me and him together, Mike thought it'd be cool if he came out onstage with me and announced entertainer of the year." Wow! "As long as it's okay with you of course." I nod. "Yeah it'll be a great experience. Man he is definitely one lucky little troublemaker." Jason laughs and resitutes him. "What's CJ stand for anyway?" A wave of sadness washes over me. Thinking about our parents. "Chris James. Chris was our dad's name and James was our grandpa's name. He's named after them." He raises a brow. "Was?" I look away. "Mom and daddy died when I was a baby." His eyes go wide as he looks down at him. "So wait a sec you take care of him all the time? I thought it was just a brother sister thing coming here!" I shake my head. "They were bringing him home from the hospital when an 18 wheeler smashed us from behind." I force myself to say. Both my mom and dad were killed instantly. Me and little man over here miraculously survived." "Gosh hun I'm sorry." I nod, shakily, trying not to cry. "I... Excuse me." I say, quickly exiting the room and going to the bathroom as the tears start to fall.

Jason's pov

Poor girl. CJ obviously doesn't remember his parents. That girl is all he knows. "So Mr. Jason, we're going to be onstage together?" I force a smile. "Yeah. You're gonna help me announce entertainer." Mike walks in. "Where'd the girl go?" "Bathroom. She says she's cool with us doing it." "Wow! Micheal Knox!" CJ exclaims. We both laugh. "Man, this kid sure knows a lot." Mike said. Just then Miranda comes back, her eyes red. Oh man. I think she was crying. "Sissy!" He gasps reaching for her. I hand him to her. "On in five!" The stagehand calls. "I gotta go." I say, waving. I get back onstage with Luke. As he steps up, he almost trips and falls. I roll my eyes. "Come on man, don't make me have to duct tape you again." I say. He laughs and stands beside me. "So it's getting to the end of the night. You know what that means!" Luke says. I smile. "Entertainer. And I've got a special little guest helping me announce it. Please welcome Chris James, my biggest fan and he's only three years old!" He runs onstage almost tripping over the same platform as Luke. I laugh and Luke says, "Man he's a mini me, we both almost tripped over that dasterdly step, we both love country music, and we both have fine taste in Georgia boys!" "Oh jeez Luke can ya be any more embarassing!" I gasp, picking CJ up again. I hand him the mic and tell him what to say. "The winner of entertainer is....." "Eric Church!" We both say at the same time. Eric walks up to receive the award. "And give a big round of applause to my little helper." I say as the crowd cheers. He hugs me. We go backstage. Miranda walks over as he yawns. I smile. "Tonight really wore him out." I say. "Yeah it's way passed his bedtime. Come on little man." "Me not wittle man, me CJ!" He says again. "He said the same thing out on the red carpet." She takes him and he falls asleep on her shoulder almost instantly. "Thanks for making a little boy's dream come true. I'm never gonna forget this." "Hey the night's still young. I still have time to make a young older sister's dream come true too." Her eyes go wide. "Oh really and what do ya have in mind Mr. Aldean?" I chuckle. "Just call me Jason." "Ok. Jason, I don't have a babysitter." "I think Luke can handle the little tyke for one night." I say. Just then he comes backstage. "Hey Luke you up for babysitting?" I ask him. She blushes. "Yeah man. I got him." She hands him to Luke. He's still fast asleep. "Come on. Let me show ya what Nashville is all about." I say, grabbing her hand.
