Miranda's pov

Jason runs back in, looking panicked. "He's gone! CJ's gone!" "What?!" I cry, standing up. He grabs my hand and we take off running. "How far could a six year old get?!" I cry, shaking. We get in his truck.

CJ's pov

I walk into the bus stop. "I wanna go home." I say to the clerk. "Oh are you lost?" I shake my head. "No I'm right here. I know where I am. But I want to go back to Alabama! Your bus can get me there right?" "I'm sorry kiddo you're too young to travel across state alone." Ugh. "Age is just a number!" I yell in frustration. I'll walk there.

Jason's pov

She was screaming his name outside the window. I see someone walking along the street. "Babe sit back down, I'm braking." She does and I hit the brakes and throw the door open.

CJ's pov

"CJ!" I turn around and see Mr. Jason running to me. I fight back the tears. But I'm shocked too see he and Sissy are both crying! He hugs me. "Oh CJ you had us so scared." Sissy says. I didn't mean to scare her! I was gonna call when I made it to Alabama. She picks me up and takes me to his truck. Ugh foiled again.

*later*

Sissy went to bed. "Buddy we need to talk." He says, sitting in across from me at the kitchen table. "Please CJ I don't want you to hate me. We used to be so close. I love you and your sister more than anything in the world. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" "I thought I was just some stupid kid that ain't even yours." I mutter, clenching my fists. He stands up and walks around the table to me. "I promise that ain't true." He says, hugging me. "You're my boy. My son or at least I hope you still are." So it really wasn't true then. I can't hold back the tears.

Jason's pov

He starts crying so I hug him tight. "You mean it daddy?" Tears come to my eyes. "Of course little man. You and Miranda are the greatest gifts I've ever gotten. And now of course our little girl along the way." I'm so glad things are back to the way they were. "You don't hate me anymore?" I ask, shakily. "No. I'm sorry daddy." "Its me who should be sorry son. I never should've said that stuff I said." He smiles and I hug him tight. I take him upstairs to his bed and tuck him in. "Oh wait dad?" I turn back around. "Yeah buddy?" "Um the new baby, what would she be? my sister?" Um.... I'm not sure. "She'd technically be your niece but that's just weird so let's just pretend she's your sister." "Ok. Goodnight dad." I smile and turn the light off and turn his Scooby doo night light on. "Oh and dad I love you." "I love you too little man." I'm about to close the door when he says, "I'm not little man I'm CJ." I freeze, remembering that's the first thing he ever spoke to me only in his little three year old voice. I'm glad he's my son. I walk away then hear him whispering. I sneak back over and see him on his knees in front of his bed. He closed his little eyes, and folded his little hands, and spoke to God like he was talking to a friend. "Thanks for helping me figure this out. I don't know what I'd do if everything didn't fix itself. I love my daddy. Thanks for giving me a daddy." What he said brings tears to my eyes. I walked in and I said son, "Now where'd ya learn to pray like that?" He smiles and hugs me. "I watched you do it." That's my boy.
