Ashton's POV

"What happened?" I asked as I rubbed my head.

Calum sat criss-crossed beside me. "It's a long story that I don't feel like telling," He said.

I rolled my eyes and sat up. I began to fiddle with my faded jeans as Calum looked around the room curiously,

"I think we should go find the others," He suggested.

I nodded in agreement and we both walked out of the room. I stopped mid-step when seeing a body, hunched over.

I put my arm out in front of Calum and squinted my eyes as I saw the body moving.

I grimaced when hearing, slurping, and splashing of liquids and growling that came from the thing.

"What is that?" Calum grimaced.

I began to slowly tip toe toward the thing. "No, don't do that!" Calum hissed but I didn't listen.

I was two feet away from it when it happened. It sprung up and screamed. "YOU ARE ALL GONNA DIE!" I screamed and ran as fast as I could back to Calum.

"Run!" I yelled as I grabbed onto Calum's shirt and yanked him into a dark room that was nearby.

I slammed the door shut and locked it, preventing the monster from getting in.

I turned around, panting hard. "Well-" I took a deep breath and ran a hand through my hair. "-I guess we're staying here for awhile," I shrugged my shoulders and sat down, leaning my back against the door.

Calum huffed and said. "I'm gonna go to sleep," I nodded and watched as he scooted over beside me.

I patted my lap and smiled when hearing a quiet laugh leave his chapped lips.

He laid his head on my lap and I rubbed his head soothingly. Soon enough, small snores left the brown haired boy.

I smiled fondly at the boy who looked way smaller than he really is as he cuddled more into my side.

"Ashton,"

Oh no, please, not again.

Calum didn't even look a bit fazed so I shrugged it off. It's probably my ears playing with me, again.

Well, after all the things I've seen, I guess I'm a little scared.

"Get ready,"

Ready? Ready for what?

"You have ten seconds to hide,"

Ten seconds? What the fuck?

I shook Calum gently and said. "Calum, Calum! Wake up!" He shot up and yelled.

"What! What? Who Died?"

I shook my head. "No one died! Come on! We have to hide!" I frantically grabbed his hand and pulled him onto his feet.

"What? Why?" He asked as I quickly looked around the room.

My eyes landed on a closet and I pulled him over to it. I pulled the door open and stepped inside.

"Just be quiet and stay behind me," I said as I gently pushed Calum into the corner of the closet and I sat right beside him, closing the door on my way.

Calum and I say there, for what felt like hours but was only minutes when the same voice from before was heard.

"Ten,"

Oh my god, no.

"Nine,"

I felt Calum stiffen beside me so I felt around for his hand.

"Eight,"

I intertwined my fingers with his.

"Seven,"

Childs laughter erupted from every corner of the closet.

"Six,"

Tons of little footsteps were heard outside the door, and the child's laughter got louder.

"Five,"

I pulled Calum into my arms and buried his face in my chest.

"Four,"

Calum began to cry.

"Three,"

I buried my face in Calum's hair.

"Two,"

I practically squeezed the living life out of Calum and whispered. "I love you, Calum," Into the younger boys ear.

"I love you too," He cried.

"One,"

Everything went silent, the only thing that was heard was my uneven breaths and Calum's soft cries.

"Ready or not, hear he comes,"
